If you put them in wood instead of PVC they should work quite well. They are a problem in PVC because the screw can sink into the PVC when driving over the screw head. In addition, corners cannot be smoothed. I suggest drilling and countersinking the rail with a SS screw.

I like my new screened porch. We made the screen cleaner and that certainly helped. I wanted it to appear without a screen view and Screen Tight was a good solution for that. I had one of the most difficult mounting surfaces, probably highly textured plaster. So I had to pre-drill holes for the screws with a mason's stick, but the screws hooked up just fine.
