The product is no longer supported by the company

The product has just been inherited from the company. No purchase recommendation. End of Software Updates In May, the following products on your system will be considered obsolete and will no longer receive software updates and new features. This affects the listening quality. Computing power to support future innovations. Please note that since Sonos is one system, all products run on the same software. If modern products remain connected to legacy products after May, they will also not…

always finds a reason not to work

Don't buy if you're busy. A CRAZY WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. We have strong negative feelings towards this damn product because - ah - not once has it been able to play 20 minutes of music without stopping - or not starting - for any reason. yes of course we did our best including updating every possibility with the app and of course our internet connection etc etc and - B - because you spend soooo much time fixing all these bugs then it's too late and to awkward to return (we bought it in 2015…

Expensive, useless, and disruptive upgrades

I needed a multi-room music solution and Sonos provided me with one when they had no choice. The quality is not bad, the price was very high for what it was. Updates came more frequently each time and the system refused to play unless I updated. The update was a slow process and no update ever brought me what I needed, quite the opposite: new versions of the Android app were often less convenient. My guess is that the updates had other purposes, such as data gathering. Now Sonos has informed me

Good investment Excellent customer service

On the advice of a technician I decided to try Sonos as a whole house system when we moved into our new home four years ago. I have purchased several Sonos 5 (12) speakers and have never looked back on this system over the past four years. They were very easy to set up and connect to the hub. , very obvious. The system connects very easily to my music sources such as Revain Music, Pandora, Sirius XM. I can control the system from my computer, tablet or phone. The most important thing is the…

Outstanding: Portable audio video device

Absolutely outstanding product. Easy to set up, easy to use. Within minutes it was playing music from my smartphone, Pandora and any of the thousands of radio stations around the world. The app running on a smartphone is as well designed as I have ever seen. There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not you need a bridge. I bought the bridge because it was cheap, but after reading the PLAY:5 manual I don't think you need it. You only need a bridge if you want to install more than one…

Pros
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • Some flaws

It's quite difficult to review Sonos because it really is a SYSTEM and not a standalone product. Components will be added as needed/desired. The first part of my review is about how I feel about the Sonos system. Next I will talk about Play:5. Finally, I'll mention the Sonos Bridge component because I think it's worth getting. I began my acquaintance with the Sonos system on the recommendation of a friend. I can't believe I've lived without him for so long. If you love music, this is the system

Great music but with quite a steep learning curve

I'm not a music lover but I play saxophone, trumpet and double bass and enjoy good music; and Sonos offers good streaming music. I started with Play 3 along with Bridge then added Play 5 and finally Play 1, all set up in my office and I'm listening to Louis Armstrong's Pandora radio station as I type this - a wonderful experience. Here's a word of caution: First, I highly recommend buying a bridge (mine was bought used/bought like new from Revain and works great) so your speakers aren't tied to

Sonos, where have you been all my life?

The Sonos Play:5 arrived earlier this week, so I've had a few days to play with it, test it at different volumes, run different devices, and play different styles of music. all i can say exploded. Away.Sound quality is even better) than my old Klipsch dock and the speaker set can play really loud without any distortion. Here are the main advantages I noticed: 1) EASY TO USE. Very easy to set up on multiple devices even for those who are not tech savvy. I'm a techie, but I feel like anyone…
