The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

gorgeous glass! Its pros: RESOLUTION - before it there was no zoom on the crop, which really pulls 24MP, now tamron has appeared 17-70 Excellent design and build quality Has cons: a barrel at a wide angle, in general, there is a lot at a wide angle that is "finished" by the software profile of the lens, but this is now the norm in modern realities no more flaws

Good but could be better

I love this lens, it's now officially my favorite lens for my NEX 5n and a6100. Then how could I leave 4 stars and not 5 stars? Vignetting occurs at the widest setting of 16mm when using the lens hood. That's the only problem I have with this lens. Also, I love it as an addition to my bag. Simply put, this is probably the best lens for photography. I can't say anything about the video because it doesn't have OSS.

Great everyday lens

I wish I had bought this lens sooner than a few other lenses I have bought as this lens now stays on my camera 95% of the time. That's really all I need, except for long shots where a telephoto lens is needed. The bokeh is excellent here, as is the sharpness of the images at all zoom ranges. I like the ability to manually switch from AF to MF and the manual focus ring is very smooth. The lens isn't small and definitely doubles the volume of my a6000, but other than that it's a super everyday…

This product was made for A6500 and A6600.

Don't expect any quality from devices without IBIS. This lens requires IBIS from a6500 and a6600. It offers an excellent quality of detail when used with these two model ranges. I don't understand the magic Sony did to take this 2.8 lens from 16mm to 55mm. Slight vignetting is present but can be corrected in post-processing. be the best lens for APS-C E-mount. Remember that this lens is designed for portraiture and vlogging. Don't expect much from the 55, even with the crop factor present in…

Great lens! Just need OSS stabilization!

I've tried many E-mount lenses, from Sigma 1.8 zooms to other Sony primes and zooms. This is the only beginner lens I recommend for APS-C users and it works in most situations. As an APS-C user you want a small, compact and portable body so look no further! PROS: Very compact for a 2.8 lens. Great size for my a6600! Compare to full-frame 2.8 lenses that are almost twice the weight. Surprisingly short minimum focusing distance of 1 foot at 55mm! (Replaced my Sony 90 macro lens) - Wide range of…

A lens that is worth its high price.

I chose this lens because I needed a fast universal zoom that was sharp on my Sony APS-C camera. I have had a 16-50 3.5-5.6 kit lens since I bought the a6300 2 years ago and have not been happy with its performance in photography. This lens is way better than the kit lens I replaced it with. I even compared this 30mm G lens to the Sigma 30mm 1.4 lens and concluded that they are similar enough in sharpness that I couldn't tell the difference. I used the lens to shoot basketball and wrestling at…

Reliable niche product at a steep price

I have been using a Sony a6300 with Sigma prime lenses (16mm and 30mm) and a Sony SELP16-50 Wal lens for several years. From the start I was looking for a quality zoom that is sharper, brighter and lasts longer than the kit lens. In the meantime, I've relied on Primes for both street and portrait photography. The new Sony 16-55G with a constant f/2.8 aperture on paper is just what I needed, although it's not cheap. I've been using it daily for about three weeks now and I'm generally quite…

  • Unbelievable price

Is it worth the cost?

I do a lot of paintings and art in museums. To do this you need to take pictures with a fairly wide angle, in low light (no flash allowed), get high resolution and no distortion. So far I've used two good quality prime lenses, a Sigma 16mm and a Sony 1.8/35. The Sigma lens shows quite a bit of distortion, but it's well corrected by the camera. The problem is that I had to change lenses from time to time at the risk of dropping them or damaging the camera sensor. I really liked using a high…
