Sony SLVD560P DVD VCR Combo Review

We had a VHS/DVD player that was destroyed in a thunderstorm and is no longer made. We found a great option at Revain and use it often.

The device itself technically works, but I'm not very impressed. The user interface is terrible in its complexity, which is unusual for Sony products. You have to press the buttons on the remote too hard for them to actually respond, which is half the problem. I can't remember exactly how long I've had this unit but I would say around 10 years (I bought it new from ABC stock). It was used almost daily on both DVD player and VCR. I used to shoot with it almost every day and tried to clean the video head regularly (recommended every 20-25 hours of use). After almost a decade of regular use, everything was still working, but there were a few inconsistent issues. Just started using it. My color films play in black and white. IT ripped the VHS tape. The sound quality is very bad. I didn't expect perfection but this is unacceptable!
