It really works! - Wood conditioners, waxes and oils

I was looking for a way to protect my husband's new vegetable garden. I wanted linseed oil without thinner because we will be growing vegetables in it. So far I've only applied one coat to the top of the bed (see photo). I've read that pure linseed oil can take a long time to dry, but the mahogany soaked it up fairly quickly and it was fairly dry the next day, not sticky at all. The next day it rained and I was able to see the product in action. Feel free to buy. It's odorless, easy to use…

Excellent goods! on Housewares

This product did a great job restoring two vintage rocking chairs that came from my (and older) grandparents' cottage. The wood used to be so dry and dull, but now it looks beautiful! I was so happy I started looking for another wood for the oil and ended up oiling the dried teak bench in our shower as well as some wooden garden chimes. Everything turned out very nice! A little goes a long way and has a strong odor while you work. But it dried quicker than I expected and the smell didn't…

Ideal for raised beds and wine barrels

I have used this on mahogany raised beds that I have built and new oak wine barrels that I have cut in half. Raw flaxseed oil is just oil, "cooked" flaxseed oil is actually diluted with a drying chemical, so you should not use cooked oil for food contact applications. For growing vegetables, we use both barrels and beds, so the raw material is ideal for us. The oil takes longer to dry (because it doesn't contain a desiccant), so the surface stays tacky longer, but eventually it dries out. It…

Exterior doors suitable for wood, wax and oil conditioners

I have unfinished exterior doors that I pay a lot of money to have someone fix once a year. Eventually I realized that they are applying linseed oil and hiding the product used and telling me it was not legally purchased in California which was a lie. Anyway, I tried linseed oil and found that it lays down very well, immediately makes the wood more beautiful and is quite easy to work with. The only problem is that it takes a long time to dry. What I've used takes about a week to dry enough that

Pros
  • Polishing and wood care
Cons
  • Large and bulky

This is exactly what I needed. After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give raw flaxseed oil a try. I have garden furniture that consists mainly of branches. The seller told me to treat them with raw linseed oil every two years - that was 10 years ago. They were faded to white and looked like they could be sent back to the forest. I remembered the Linseed Oil review and bought a can without expecting much. Now the furniture is like new! However, this wasn't a quick weekend project,
