WILL NOT FIT Baofeng UV9R. You can make it fit, but be prepared to spend 15 or 20 minutes sanding down the excess plastic around the base of the antenna with a dremel.

This antenna does not screw all the way onto my BaoFeng UV5R Plus. Leaves a gap for moisture and dust to penetrate. Also, my antenna broke where it was screwed into the radio after hitting a tree. waste of money.

I sat down and swapped the stock antenna for this one because I couldn't believe it. That's almost three times longer than my normal antenna. It includes a rubber O-ring. Tried at least 4 times with each option with and without sweep. I can state 100% without a doubt that this antenna is absolute rubbish. Couldn't even pick up a Noaa repeater. It's always loud and clear with my standard antenna.

I bought this in the hope that it would improve my transmission range a bit. To be honest, I can't say whether that was the case or not. But I can say that there was almost no reception. I thought this would increase the transmission and reception range of my Baofeng HT. Build quality sucks. The o-ring fell off immediately when I took it out of the box. And also the rubber cap fell off the top. BUT THE WORST thing is that it doesn't even work as an antenna! No reception, no transmission PERIOD. I couldn't figure out why I wasn't getting reception from a local repeater only 3 miles away. I was able to set it up on my Kenwood HT. I thought maybe the Baofeng radio is not working…
