Easy installation and quality product!

This cover was fairly easy to install and made a good seal around the cover, although I used some silicone sealant to be safe. The only issue I had was removing the notch that allows the cable to lay flat without covering the lid. I did everything I could, but everything is not what I expected. Still, I give this product 5 stars! Great quality and looks great too!

Pros
  • Year-Long Trial
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Can keep everything plugged into an outlet

This is my second purchase of a Taymac weatherproof outlet. I installed the first one around Christmas last year because I wanted the outdoor lights to be plugged into an outlet and the outlet cover that was there before wouldn't protect from the elements if left plugged in. So I tried this outlet, it seals watertight and you have the option to keep your devices connected and protected.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Bad design is good for the electrics

Hinge cover almost impossible to fit, no instructions for hinges. Just don't buy these covers, there are probably better ones out there. My friend set it up for vertical mounting and he finally got the hinges working in about 1/2 hour. The company must either sell or offer for sale the lid with the lid attached for a vertical hole or sell one to mark a horizontal bracket. Change the cover anyway

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Moisture problem solved

We've had this cover for two months now and it fixed our problem of moisture getting into our outside outlet. This created serious problems for us as our freezer was in the garage and plugged into the same circuit breaker as our external outlet. In the month prior to receiving this coverage, the circuit breaker was tripped three times. Needless to say we were very worried about losing a freezer full of groceries. The lid was relatively easy to install, but to keep extra moisture out of the…

Very versatile, easy to install, works well

Unit will initially operate on a single GFCI circuit but comes with adapters for other outlet configurations (e.g. light switch, regular non-GFCI outlet). Very easy to install, simply remove the existing panel on the socket, loosen the mounting screws (or replace the mounting screws with screws provided), align the box with the loose screws, slide the box into place, pull tighten the screws. super easy. The lid snaps straight on and the lid seals tight to keep moisture out. My outlet was under…

Works as expected on socket covers

I needed an outlet behind my sliding patio door to facilitate plugging in my smoker and fan that I keep on the patio overlooking the living room and ran an extension cord through the sliding door which kept my screen door from closing fully always flies to a hit. With so many options for external outlet covers, I chose these based on the reviews, ease of installation, and affordability. I'm not an electrician and I'm just renting this house, but I wanted to do it right. It was easy to install…

Waterproof. Not bee or bug proof.

An electrician recently installed an outdoor RCD for me. He didn't have a wet case with him. In the winter we have electricity for the birdbath heater. I ordered this used cover in white to match the box the electrician installed. Only gray was available in local big box stores. One thing to note is that the installation guide is so small that I had to use a magnifying glass to read it. Yes, my eyes are not what they used to be. You may not have this problem. The latches on the lid were not…
