I used magnetic mounts to create a detachable sewer hose holder for my RV.

I attached the magnetic mounts to the drain hose holder which I reinforced a bit to make a detachable drain hose holder for my RV. The drain hose holder is available from Revain. My carrier is light and strong and adjustable in length. It is easy to remove and store away when not in use. I have used the stretcher on 4 trips and have nothing but good things to say about it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Nothing

I really tried to give them a good push with the choice of highway I used.

I bought these shoes after reading reviews from other naysayers and was a bit skeptical about how well they would hold up, but after wearing them for the last month it's safe to say, that they won't keep less than 80 mph on a bumpy freeway. I tried to really shake it up by choosing the highway I was using and the lightbar didn't even move. I can't wait to use them in the dunes or in the mountains!

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • There are nuances

Very strong when used in parallel

For those wondering how strong these magnetic mounts are. I'm a 180 lb guy. For a mount, I can use the installed lamp as a lever and pry it off the surface of the car with both hands. But once the two brackets are placed parallel and the light bar forms an "H", it is physically impossible to move it with bare hands. The only way to move it in this case is to detach a bracket from the light bar and use the light bar as a lever to pry it off. They are absolutely strong enough to hold light rods.

  • Rugged construction

  • No

If you want to loose something/ No quality control

***UPDATE 6/29 flipped the magnet myself and lost the rubber pad because it was glued on, NOW I can understand the good reviews. So if your magnets are really weak try flipping the magnet, it worked for me. I thought I did something wrong because they are so weak! I'm not kidding, I've had fridge magnets stronger than these. For those who say they are hard to tear off, at least mine (I bought 2) I can easily pull them off with two fingers.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

then i tried it on the roof and it looked like it was welded on

i first tried it on my 2014 ford fusion hood and it didn't hold up that well just because i found that The bonnet is mostly made of plastic. then i tried it on the roof and it looked like it was welded on! I had to tip them sideways to get them loose. The roof is all metal and those magnets won't let go easily! I put an LED strip in front of the roof rack because the Fusion headlights aren't very bright on country roads and highways in areas where there is no overhead lighting. These magnetic…

Extreme magnetic adhesion! Wow!

Wow! I attached one of these brackets to one of our square steel bars in our modern kitchen and it took me about 5 minutes to get it off the bar! I never thought these magnets would be so strong! Terribly strong! I bought them for a new Kubota tractor to fit a light bar and rear work lights! I sent them to a Kubota dealer today and they were beyond surprised at how strong the magnets can be! They assembled 2 of these and it took a few minutes for 2 guys to take them apart! I would buy them…

Hold on very tight for light bars

They're not the cheapest on Amazon, but they're very durable. I was concerned to see another reviewer say their lightbar dropped off at freeway speeds, so I attached a safety tether for the first month just in case. After off-road rides on rough back roads and a couple of times on the freeway at 75 mph and headwinds in excess of 40 mph, this thing didn't budge. I suspect other people's problem was user error. You may need to bend or tweak the mount a bit to ensure the magnets are snug against…

Very strong magnets

Bought these to mount a light bar on the roof of my car so I didn't have to drill holes in the roof. At first I had my doubts as to whether they would be strong enough to hold a 42-inch lightbar to the car while cruising down the road at freeway speeds and beyond, but they're pretty damn strong. I've had these on my car several times. The time is now and I've gotten them through the bell, accelerating at over 100mph along with strong gusts of wind (up to 60mph) as well as bouncing off the road…
