Description of BOSS Audio Systems R1100M Riot Series Car Subwoofer Amplifier - 1100W High Output, Monoblock, Class A/B, 2/4 Ohm Stability, Low/High Level Inputs, Low Pass Crossover, Mosfet Power Supply, Stereo Compatible

Power - 1100 Max x 1 @ 2 Ohms, 550 Max x 1 @ 4 Ohms. Class A/B Topology - Class ‘A’ amplifiers have enormous amount of current flowing through its output transistors with no audio signal. Class ‘B’ amplifiers have no current flowing through its outputs with no audio signal. Mosfet Power Supply - A MOSFET is an electrical switch that allows the flow of electrical current. It controls the output voltage & current precisely by removing the output current sensing loss & eliminating all secondary feedback circuitry. Low & High Level Inputs - A low level (RCA) input is measured in voltages. A high level (+/- wire) input is measured in wattages. Both essentially carry signal from your receiver to your amplifier to your speakers. Variable Low-Pass Crossover - Subwoofers reproduce sound based on a number of different low-range frequencies. You can set exact sound specifications for the bass frequency reproduction. Switchable Bass Boost - Bass Boost allows you to adjust the low bass within the boost range to just the way you like it. Variable Input Gain Control - The gain control is not for adjusting volume. It simply adjusts the amount of signal that is coming from your receiver and going to your amplifier. Specs - Dimensions: 9.13” x 10.44” x 2.25”, Weight: 4.43 lbs. Speaker Impedance: 2 to 8 Ohm, THD @ RMS Output: 0.01%, S/N Ratio: 102 dB, Frequency Response: 9 Hz to 50 kHz, Fuse Quantity: 1 30 Amp ATO Blade. Value for money

This amp has been in my GMC for about 5 months. I bought it from Revain, installed it from Best Buy and it has worked great for me so far. It was worth every penny. I really can't believe how good this sounds for the price I paid. I will also buy one for my Miata.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Long delivery time

False advertising. Wrong 825 watts into 2 ohms. More like 110W RMS.

Connected to an Alpine 600W RMS woofer. We had a buddy with a dynamometer amp so we hooked it up to him, less than 2 ohms. I tested the amp and it only puts out 110W RMS with lots of distortion! That's a far cry from the advertised 825 RMS into 2 ohms. I advise against buying this garbage. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on a quality amp that actually does what it says on the tin.

Just a budget bastard.

dude. Was impressed right out of the box. I was very skeptical about the price and have never bought an amp for less than $250. I've always stuck to the best, like JL precision performance and sound, but this was for a serious budget project. I am very happy. The subwoofer only required 200 watts (rms) and this amp is more than sufficient with 1/3 power. hope it lasts

Gets the job done with no problems.

I have two dual style 500w subwoofers in this amp and they pack a punch. But if you put it in the trunk like I did, the air won't be your friend, the amp has a high temperature mode to automatically shut off when it gets hot. Trust me it will turn off. The bass hits love with this feature. My car was equipped with a previous factory amp that met its death. This amp is big enough to put under the passenger seat since it will be stepped on, so the trunk.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Durability

Add a subwoofer to your factory radio!

I bought this amp hoping to put 2 JBL GT5-10's in a 2008 Acura TL with factory stereo. The GT5s are SVC rated at 275 RMS and 1100 peak into 4 ohms. When paralleled I'm pretty sure I'm getting most of the 825 RMS and 1100 Max this amp is claiming into 2 ohms. The high level inputs allowed me to pick up the signal from the factory subwoofer cables and we can still control the subs from the main unit. Female TL sounds good! Great amp!

This product made me believe in budget audio. Updated 6/20/18

When I was in high school I liked expensive audio solutions and vowed never to buy a Boss amp. ". Seven years later, my $600 premium amp finally died and the warranty expired four years ago. I'm not as crazy about sound as I used to be, but I don't think I could live without at least a 15" could live. behind my seat. I needed a new amp, hop on the cheap boss amp. First let me say that I have always been very biased towards Boss products, calling it a cheap Walmart brand. God, like I always do -

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Some troubles

Good amp for the price.

I gave this amp 5 stars because it fits perfectly with the setup I want and the amp performs well as expected. It is true that the amp is not properly rated for the performance but for the price one should expect as such. But I knew exactly what I was buying, so I have no complaints about this amp. I've been testing it for a few days now and it works well with no issues, handles heat very well and is a very solid amp. I wanted something simple that would add bass to my system so I paired this…

Works as promised, but pay attention to grounding and heat dissipation.

Aside from the car's quirks, installation was easy. Just make sure the ground is good or the amp will remain in protection mode. The illuminated Boss logo looks sleek, but the logo is blue and might not look great with interior LED themes. Other users have complained about overheating, so I knew this could be the problem. The primary ventilation openings are located on the underside of the amp and the brackets allow only 1/8 inch clearance between the amp and the mounting surface, preventing…
