Description of ๐Ÿ” Premium WEST SYSTEM FLEX 32oz Bottle โ€“ Superior Performance for All Your Project Needs!

EXCELLENT ADHESION to hard-to bond woods. This toughened, versatile liquid epoxy for permanent waterproof bonding of fiberglass, ceramics, metals, plastics, damp and difficult-to-bond woods. A bit more flexible than standard epoxies and polyester, but much stiffer than adhesive sealants. Makes structural bonds that can absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. IDEAL FOR BONDING dissimilar materials. It can be modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers and additives and used to wet-out fiberglass tapes and fabrics. Mixed at a 1:1 ratio, this 2-part epoxy gives you 46 minutes of pot life at 72ยฐF and an open (working) time of 60-75 minutes. It reaches an initial cure in 3 to 4 hrs and a workable cure in 7-10 hours. OFFERS GREATER FLEXIBILITY than traditional epoxies or polyester resins. Yet it is much stiffer than adhesive sealants. With a modulus of elasticity of 150,000 PSI, this epoxy bonds tenaciously to a metals, plastics, glass, masonry, and fiberglass. Can also be used to wet out and bond fiberglass tapes and fabrics. MAKES STRUCTURAL BONDS that can absorb the stress of expansion, contraction, shock, and vibration. G/flex can be used on damp or wet surfaces, and even underwater when applied with specific techniques. Perfect for repairs to aluminum and boats and canoes or kayaks made of polyethylene or ABS. EASILY MODIFIED with WEST SYSTEM Fillers, Additives, and Pigments to suit the job at hand. Adding G/flex to other WEST SYSTEM epoxies can improve their toughness and flexibility. Not intended for clear coating.

Royalex Cyanoacrylate Repair

This flexible epoxy was used to repair two Royalex canoes. The slots closed up to the core and then the baseplates made with just epoxy with no felt or kevlar strips. A good working time is about 45 minutes at 72 degrees Fahrenheit and 30 minutes at 85 degrees. Since then the epoxy has withstood some flux impacts. As with all epoxy resins, it can be difficult to work with as it becomes more viscous towards the end of the working time. I would recommend it for floor protection and repair ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • OFFERS MORE FLEXIBILITY than traditional epoxy or polyester resins. However, it is much tougher than adhesive sealants. With a modulus of 150,000 psi, this epoxy adheres strongly to metals, plastics, glass, masonry and fiberglass. Can also be used to wet and bond fiberglass tapes and fabrics.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

That's a great epoxy! Bought for a gun project.

That's a great epoxy! I bought it for a weapons project - a Civil War musket that is over 150 years old with damage to the stock where the lock was set. This epoxy was awesome! Damaged inventory has been repaired so this old veteran (on the Union side) could continue to function. I have also used this epoxy to coat the bottoms of Royalex canoes to protect them. It worked great for this app too. Save your money and stop buying 5 dollar packs of epoxy in stores - it's much more profitableโ€ฆ

Pros
  • IDEAL FOR GLUING different materials. It can be modified with WEST SYSTEM fillers and additives and used to impregnate fiberglass tapes and fabrics. Mixed at a 1:1 ratio, this two-part epoxy offers a pot life of 46 minutes at 72ยฐF and an open time of 60-75 minutes. Initial cure is achieved in 3-4 hours and effective cure in 7-10 hours.
Cons
  • Big and chunky

G/flex is an amazing material, I have a lot of experience and sometimes I buy in bulk from one of the factories in Australia. I just noticed that the current price is a bit cheaper. Compared to the prices listed on West System's website, there are definitely some deals on Amazon, especially with free shipping. I contacted West Marine factories a long time ago and they recommended g/flex specifically for oily woods and steel. It also holds wood together very well, it's stronger than wood grainโ€ฆ

Pros
  • OFFERS STRUCTURAL JOINTS that can absorb strain, compression, shock and vibration loads. G/flex can be used on damp or wet surfaces and even under water using special techniques. Ideal for repairing aluminum and polyethylene or ABS boats, canoes or kayaks.
Cons
  • Dear
