Good remote, mediocre instructions

I'm using this remote on a Nikon D300s as a replacement of a simple one I used to have that got damaged. This remote has more features than my old one, like time lapsed photography and delay shooting. The instructions could be better, especially when it comes to BULB and burst functions. The camera has to be in BULB mode in order to have the shutter stay open while pressing the release button on the remote. The same is true for burst shooting, at least with my camera. Once the camera is set to…

Pros
  • TW-283 support Auto-focus, Single shooting, Continuous shooting, BULB shooting, Delay shooting and Timer schedule shooting. Delay Shooting Setting can set delay time and number of shots: delay time alters from 1s to 59s, and number of shots alters from 1 to 99.
Cons
  • Cumbersome for casual use: May be too cumbersome for daily or casual use

Does a lot of things well and is not expensive.

I still dont know how to rate anything by "warmth". > review starting<. I love this miracle. Does everything I can thing of, great remote shutter, great delayed shutter, great for long exposures, and for programming multiple exposures for Astrophotography. Only problem for me is I cant program videos with my Cannon T7 2000D because of the way Cannon does it. Also instructions are almost useless for scheduling

Pros
  • Works great! Confusing at first but play with it
Cons
  • Complicated setup: May require complicated setup process

Does what it is supposed to do

I am using this to digitally scan books, so the "reach" I need is only 4 or 5 feet. I use one transmitter and two receivers (so I had to buy two products - couldn't find just a receiver). I set transmitter and the two receiver to channel 01, and when I push the transmitter button, both receivers cause the two digital Nikon SLR's to fire. That's all I need, and it works reliably.

Pros
  • This remote works great and it was super easy to set and use!
Cons
  • Works best with direct line of sight, which might not always be possible

Easy to use and compact!

I purchased this to try my hand at astrophotography on a recent trip to Utah. It was my first time attempting to shoot the stars at night. This shutter release worked flawlessly! I didn't have to make any adjustments (changing channels). It was so easy to use. Like I always recommend with any device, READ THE MANUAL cover to cover first and you will get maximum enjoyment from your new device. I'm extremely happy with how it performed and I'm eagerly looking forward to using it soon for some…

Pros
  • It works great for single shots at
Cons
  • Incompatible with other cameras

Works great! for my opinion

Very happy with this product. I bought two in order to control two cameras at the same time from different angles. This is quick and easier than navigating the sub menus of the cameras. They also work great as a simple remote shutter release.

Pros
  • It’s so easy to use and it has so many settings to work with!!! Love it
Cons
  • Battery life may not be ideal

This review is for the DC2 version. I have been using this remote with my Nikon Z6 camera, I would expect it to behave the same for the Z7. When used as a remote shutter release for single shots or multiple shots the remote works as expected. (Multi mode requires camera to be in burst mode). In either wireless or wired mode, press the shutter button on the remote and it takes the photo. Bulb operation also works as expected (must have camera in Bulb Mode of course). Timer delay works fine as…

Pros
  • The wireless remote shutter is a must-have accessory for every photographer
Cons
  • Not ideal for night shots

Exactly what I wanted

I was looking for a way to wirelessly control the shutter on my older Canon Eos Rebel camera. It did that pretty much right out of the box. I know it has more programmable functionality, but for now I am quite pleased with just being able to take a picture, remotely - without or without a delay. This is ideal for long exposure photography.

Pros
  • Great for macro photography, allowing you to take photos without touching the camera
Cons
  • Limited battery replacement options: May require specific types of batteries, limiting their availability

Simple and effective.

Reliable and relatively easy to use. Looked online and found great tutorials for shooting time-lapse with it. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Digital Camera Accessories
Cons
  • Hassle to set up: Complications in initial set-up can discourage users

Could not make it work

I just simply could not get it to work with my Nikon D750, though it's supposed to and the cables seemed to fit properly. It's got a lot of good features, so if it works with your camera, great!

Pros
  • Makes it easy to take photos without worrying about camera shake or blurry images
Cons
  • Not for outdoor use: May not function well in outdoor environments due to limited range

Easy to use wireless remote.

Very easy to use and figure out. The manual is definitely translated or ESL but it understandable. My primary interest is in hands free shutter release but the advanced time-laps configuration may be of use to some. I like that I can put a one second delay on the remote. I can press the button, hide the remote and the shutter will release within one second. Very nice.

Pros
  • Available to control different brand's cameras and models by changing different camera connecting cable. The transmitter and receiver adopts LCD screen which is more easy and simple to handle.
Cons
  • Inefficient battery use

Excellent value for money

I use it with my Sony A6500 for astrophotography. My typical use is to take dozens of 29s photos with a 1s gap between for creating star trails. This works exactly as I hoped it would, though the instructions were quite confusing.

Pros
  • Works as described, instructions a little fuzzy
Cons
  • Dependence on battery life: Device’s functioning depends on battery life, possibly causing discomfort in long sessions

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Long range remote, with timer.

I use this for long exposure shots and remote trigger for wildlife shots. Unlike many remote triggers out there, this one has a long range - around 300ft. While the timer for bulb is helpful, I wish it could be set so it would count down to the desired exposure and close the shutter on its own. Since it merely starts a clock, you have to keep an eye on the timer to know when to terminate the exposure yourself.

Pros
  • Ideal for low-light situations or night photography, allowing you to keep the camera still for longer exposures
Cons
  • May have limited instructions that leave some users confused

Great value best in my review

This is a great value. It works great. It doesn't include batteries, though (4 AAA). Also, the manual is very wordy. How to work the different functions and modes is hard to understand, especially for a novice/amateur photographer. I ended up learning more about how to use this by just playing around with it.

Pros
  • The remote shutter makes it easy to take photos with a large group of people
Cons
  • Not trusted by all brands: Some incompatible brands may not trust this product to work with their cameras

Works on a Canon M6 Mark ii

So happy this works on my new M6 Mark II. I think this model should work on any camera that has this 3.5mm style plug on the camera. Can't wait to try some bird shots. It would be a 5, but it is hard to figure out how to set it up.

Pros
  • Essential for astrophotography or long-exposure shots, allowing you to keep the camera still for extended periods of time
Cons
  • Extra carefulness needs to be taken in ensuring the device is securely in hand

Receiver doesn’t work

Diagram states to put batteries opposite way but contacts on same side. Will not turn on. Requested replacement. Hope second one works.

Pros
  • Eliminates the need for a photographer to be physically present in order to take photos
Cons
  • Limited features

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works as advertised

Works great but instructions could use a band-aid. Controlled my camera and being remote controlled, it eliminates camera shake or messing up your boresight.

Pros
  • Perfect for wedding and event photography, enabling you to take photos from a discreet distance
Cons
  • Expensive compared to others

Good buy, great tool

A very decent tool for creative photography. Manual could be better but overall I am very satisfied with the purchase! Multiple pieces to lose or misplace.

Pros
  • Value for the money, button is a little touchy, but maybe just knit picking
Cons
  • Multiple pieces to lose or misplace

I bought this item mostly to take pictures of birds on my feeders. I put the batteries in the receiver and the remote control. Powered them both on and made sure they were both on the same channel. Mounted the receiver on my Nikon D5000 and went inside. I was approximately 50 feet from the feeders and it took a picture every time I pressed the button on the remote. Absolutely love this product!

Pros
  • Compatible with several Sony cameras, including the A7, A7II, III, R, RII, RIII, A7IV, A7RIV, A7S, A300, A6000, A6500, A6400, A6300, A77II, A100, A300, A450, A500, A580, A700, A850, A33, A55, A58, A65, A77, A99, and RX100 II III IV
Cons
  • Easy to misplace: Small size and similar color to camera make it easy to misplace

Every Photographer Needs This

When I bought a new Nikon Z6II, I needed a new remote shutter release. But this is so much more. The wireless remote can create time lapses, long exposures, remotely controlled photos, with a variety of options. It's a powerful took even for the casual photographer.

Pros
  • Compatible with Sony Alpha A100, A200, A300, A350, A400, A450, A500, A550, A560, A580, A700, A850, A900, SLT: A33, A35, A37, A55, A57, A65, A67, A77, A99, Konica Minolta DIMAGE A2, DIMAGE A1, DIMAGE 9, DIMAGE 7Hi, DIMAGE 7i, DIMAGE 7, DIMAGE 5, DIMAGE 4, DIMAGE 3, DYNAX 7D, DYNAX 5D
Cons
  • Not essential: Not an essential product for photography

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for the price

I must say this does much more than I'll likely ever use it for and haven't tried most of the settings, just the single photo shutter release and multiple photo shutter release. I was able to stand inside my house with the remote and take these pictures of the birds at my bird feeder. There is no way I could do that standing outside by the feeder. The great thing about it is that the receiving end doesn't need to be pointed right at the remote. I had it hanging down with the camera on a tripod…

Pros
  • Great for shooting in windy conditions, allowing you to keep the camera steady
Cons
  • Limited community support
