Works For Soap: Soap Making

Eleven 4-ounce bars of soap were made in one of these loaf pans. Due to the flexibility of silicone, the molds need support. I bought a thin plank of wood and cut pieces out of it to make a box that holds 3 loaves of bread. A support is also required between the loaves.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Not Sure

So far ok for home use.

As you can see this block has no support ribs for liquid to solid shapes. This mold makes a convex rectangular soap, although suitable for home use, I would not recommend using it to make the final retail product. If you adjust the mount to support the sides of the form it will work. The soap came off easily and cleaning was easy. I love the concept of this mold, and making the one-off jig out of wood offsets the cost of better units from other companies that cost three times as much.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • secret

Be ready to give it back if you're looking for perfection.

I mostly make small batches of soap and the freezer paper gives me the inconvenience of having to line 5 separate molds each day, making installation and cleanup much more convenient and efficient. I've found that after the soap has set, the best way to get the log out is to pull out the silicone side to separate it from the soap, then turn the whole shabang upside down and push it out from the bottom outwards and work on myself The soap jumps right in for me, even my goat milk and beeswax soap

Pros
  • . I look forward to
Cons
  • . The list will be long.

The mold was tiny, not as described and not flexible

Item not as described. The mold dimensions stated and listed in the product description were 10.2" x 2.8" x 3.1". The molds that arrived measured 9.88 x 2.25 x 2.75 inches, which is much smaller The sides and walls of the falsely advertised mold are also significantly thicker and less flexible than the molds I received from this company last month and I can't even imagine trying to get a bar of soap out of this thing. Items from a previous order I made were as described, and for those taking…

Pros
  • Material: American food grade silicone. Safe at -40 to +440 F (-40 to +230 degrees Celsius)
Cons
  • Not Safe

It's fine, but retaining walls are required

I'm a keen soap maker but I usually try to recycle molds from other containers. I wanted something reusable and durable so I finally settled on this one as an economical option. It works, but there are a few things to note: Its full internal dimensions: The product dimensions listed are a little misleading - its maximum capacity is around 55 ounces of soap, not 2 pounds as other reviews say. My 2lb batch gave me about an extra inch of room at the top - the long sides will flex if you pour ALL…

Pros
  • It can withstand approx. Soap 1.2L.
Cons
  • fade out
