Works great - engine tools

08 WRX, timing belt/water pump needs replacing. The tool did exactly what it was supposed to do, holding the camshaft sprockets on the driver's side in place while I put the belt on.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Not the best

Good quality but wrong thread pattern.

Good quality product I give 4 stars because the screws were sent with the wrong thread. I won't be returning as I can get replacements at my hardware store.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Expensive

Great tool fast shipping

Having the right timing tools on this ej25 made building the short block a lot easier. 10/10 would recommend this cam lock to anyone building an engine or replacing a timing belt.

Pros
  • Fits me perfectly
Cons
  • Protection

Waste of time and money

Where to start. The bolts only go about 3 threads into the bushing that should fit the cams, but the bushings don't fit the cams either. I bought this tool and it couldn't even do what it advertises. Garbage!

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

Mismatched threads are best in engine tools

This is a great value cam sprocket locking tool for Subaru. I decided to give it a try instead of buying the 23 brand. The only bad review is that the screw threads come straight out of the bag parts don't match, I should have read other reviews before buying, some said there are only 2-3 threads screwed in. Should be able to fix it with new bolts or rebuild the interior. I think you get what you pay for

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Security

The bolts do not fit the threads of the magnet parts

The bolts supplied are screwed into the magnet parts no more than two threads. I find screws with the right thread pitch and also cut the threads. If I didn't have these tools to fix a manufacturing defect, I'd be a little more frustrated. Hopefully you can get the quality department to identify future issues before shipping this product to customers.

Pros
  • The delivery was very fast
Cons
  • The price of the piggy bank

The camshafts also moved with the tool installed

Used a while ago to fix the camshafts on the driver's side when changing the timing belt. Spent, took off the belt and thought that everything was fine. When I was about to put on a new belt, I noticed to my great surprise that the camshafts had shifted a bit. And yes, the tool was properly tightened on the brackets, so that wasn't the problem. After that it happened to me again. I'm starting to wonder if the hex portion of the tool that fits into the hex bolt on the camshaft is too sloppy…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • I won't say anything
