Zilla Heavy-Duty Screen Retention Clips Review

They work great! I have a ball python and it ran away 3 times before I got it. Now he can't get out at all. They are very easy to use and the first set I bought still works great years later. If you have a large snake or tank I would recommend buying 2 sets (4 clips total). I currently have a narrow/long 55 gallon tank and the Optimus is a good mid-sized snake so a clip on each end works great (they go in the middle). Although you can easily make 2 on each side.

These clamps hold my python in the tank very well. I bought two packs because I have a 55 gallon tank and thought the extra security would be nice. The clamps are flexible so I think they should work with almost any size or type of tank. They're a bit annoying when you have to open and close the tank a lot and you need to have decent finger strength, but I suppose the difficulty in getting the lid off is kind of an issue. They have the advantage of being able to bend a bit despite being heavy metal. I had to adjust them to work with my tank strainer cap. On the one hand, the clip works well, fits perfectly. However, because the screen cover is only slightly longer than the top of the tank on one end, the other clip doesn't quite grab the edge of the tank. They are great! They work great. My only issue (but I'm not sure if that's really a problem) is that they can't be removed from the tank. I have to rip them off with a butter knife every time I need to get in the tank (which isn't much for a hamster) and it's quite annoying, but if you have an escape master or a stronger animal than a hamster you're holding try it will probably be a plus for you.
