Good product: Fish & Aquatic Pets

Good product just not as well received as I thought by my red eared crawly cat who is something of a diva when it comes to food.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Good but not great

Diamond-nosed turtles do not eat pellets

They may not be suitable for more carnivorous turtles such as DBT. Both of my have given up pellets. He sniffed it and immediately went on. Even my cat (another obligatory predator) wasn't interested! The image on the glass is misleading marketing.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • suitable

Perfect for our red-eared turtle

Our turtle loves this food. His favorite foods are shrimp and dried cranberries, but will eat anything mixed, as well as nutritious pellets and mealworms. The variety is good - much better than just feeding pellets. Our turtle has grown from a small teenager to a large adult and eats this food.

Pros
  • Sample for a year
Cons
  • I don't mind, everything is fine

Turned the aquarium into a cesspool

Well, the turtle liked the food, but the aquarium that I cleaned weekly turned into a cesspool almost overnight and required a complete water change almost daily. My turtle looked very unhappy swimming in the mud from even one uneaten chunk and the products of its own digestion. Since he switched back to his previous food and fine dried shrimp, the water in his aquarium is clear again.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Secret

Excellent food. My red-eared slider loves it as much as it does

I have a western turtle and a red-eared slider. They love this food. Both turtles struggle to find dried cranberry chunks, which are the largest chunks in the jar. The only caveat I have is that the protein content is high enough that my painted turtle often loses parts of its shell. As far as I know, this isn't a serious issue, but it's worth mentioning. If anyone has any suggestions, am I willing to listen?

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Everything is great

MY PROFITABLE TURTLE LOVES IT

I have a Red Eared Slider, it is VERY fussy and will not eat anything that was recommended to us when we bought it. He LOVES this thing! The only thing he doesn't like about it is the cranberries, but there aren't many of those anyway, so it doesn't matter. He eats every bite we put in the tank and if he still seems hungry we always give him a little more. He doesn't wait to eat it either, as soon as he sees us picking up a glass he's ready to eat! Plus it doesn't cloud the tank or leave any…

Not enough cranberries to satisfy his insatiable appetite for it

My yellow-bellied slider, who eats a lot of pellets when they're the only supply, turns up his nose at first and goes straight for worms and shrimp in this food . When it becomes clear that they are all gone, he resignedly eats the pellets. Cranberries aren't enough to satisfy his insatiable appetite, but this is the best. He's a bit frugal with them and very happy with the quality of this product. Turtle gives him two flippers. (Yes, we know they're not actually fins. He doesn't care what you…
