Works with DreamPi (requires line voltage inductor) for Dreamcast

I bought this to get my Dreamcast back online with a DreamPi setup. At first I thought this would work based on some guides I found online, but turns out I still need a line voltage inductor. After searching for one I was able to get it working. Now I can play like I did in 1999.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • No Insurance

I ordered this to use as a Daylite dialer on a new iMac that we have just added to our network because I I've been using Zoom modems since about 1986. Because THIS IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OS 10.10. The description of "OS X compatible" in both the Revain description and on the Zoom website is misleading. Unlike US Robotics, Zoom hasn't bothered to develop a driver for Yosemite and beyond. I returned it and bought US Robotics (not the softmodem version). Despite the misleading description, Revain…

Sweet on Mac 10.7.5

From the beginning, sending and receiving faxes has been a simple task. Simply plug one end into your computer's USB hub or USB hub and the other end into your phone line (fax line or regular phone line via a splitter). His fires will burn. Go to "Print & Scan" in System Preferences and you will see in the left column it shows under Faxes as USB tethering. The computer recognized it without any software, and you can click its icon to set it up as you like. You can even set it up to answer faxes

Works great on all MAC operating systems - even Mountain Lion!

I have a MAC and have been using a Zoom 3095 dial-up modem for 6 years. This is by far the best external USB dial-up modem and fax machine I have ever owned. It works not only on the latest i7 quad-core Macs, but also on older Mac Power PCs and all Macs in between. Over the years I have used it with various Mac Power Pc and Intel laptops running Tiger OS, OS Leopard, OS Snow Leopard, OS Lion and OS. mountain lion. It's easy to PLUG AND PLAY them all! I use it easily between my old 17 inch…

Great product - shame on Apple!

I just replaced my outdated iMac G5 with a new iMac 21.5 with Lion. I didn't realize at the time that Apple had done away with the internal modem, so with the new Mac I didn't have a fax anymore. Even though it's "old school", faxing is still useful and in some cases required or preferred for legal or other sensitive documents. I do both. So I needed a solution. (C'mon Apple! How much did the built-in modem save you?!) After some research I found the Zoom 3095 to be unremarkable and the specs…

expensive, under the hood is the same as others, that's half the price

Everything is fine, but under the hood is the same as a bunch of others with the same form factor, USR, Trendnet Save buy a few dollars and trendnet. If you use this for a phone app, it will play caller id and rejection messages. It will run Caller ID with the latest drivers, but there is a bug with these modem types (chipset that most USB modems use. But for HiRO H50113 it's different) and Win7. Rejection messages from the phone application are not played back. HiRO H50113 does not have this…

Mac OS Lion - works great; IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFO

After installing the new Mac OS Lion, I lost the functionality of the Apple USB tethering I was using. I ordered a Zoom 3095 USB modem and replaced an Apple product. Important: Ignore the installation instructions that come with Zoom; They involve copying the modem script file to your computer, which is not required. Go to your modem's support section and there you will find easy installation instructions in PDF format. Once installed, the Zoom modem works great. Zoom needs to update its…

Caller ID feature not working

I bought this modem to connect to my Raspberry Pi for a Caller ID call blocking app. Good: Raspberry Pi Linux recognized the modem without having to install additional drivers. Bad: The caller ID feature only worked about 10% of the time. Most of the time incoming calls just showed RING with no caller id while other phones in the house showed caller id correctly. But sometimes it worked. drives you crazy Since I bought it with the Caller ID as the sole use, I sent it back. As usual, Revain's…

The good, the bad, and the ugly

Bought for my new Mac mini with OS X Mavericks. GOOD - it REALLY worked fine for a few days after the initial setup. THE BAD - the installation instructions are very confusing. A call to tech support cleared up the confusion - setting up the modem is actually pretty easy if you throw away the instructions. DANGEROUS - the modem failed after about 5 days and I sent it back for a refund. Also, I think it's fair to say that the new Mavericks OS is NOT very dial-up friendly - webpages will load…
