I bought this modem to connect to my Raspberry Pi for a Caller ID call blocking app. Good: Raspberry Pi Linux recognized the modem without having to install additional drivers. Bad: The caller ID feature only worked about 10% of the time. Most of the time incoming calls just showed RING with no caller id while other phones in the house showed caller id correctly. But sometimes it worked. drives you crazy Since I bought it with the Caller ID as the sole use, I sent it back. As usual, Revain's return policy is great. I replaced it with a TRENDnet 56K USB 2.0 Telephone, Internet and Fax Modem, TFM-561U, which worked fine. Trendnet is half the price of Zoom, looks the same physically except for the color, was also recognized by the Raspberry Pi operating system, and appears to use the same chipset internally. I have no idea why Trendnet worked and Zoom didn't. I wish I could get started with Trendnet and save a little time and hassle.
