Not bad could be better

If they were installed and the installer had problems with the product. The clips were junk and wouldn't stay on the latch bar on my Dodge Dakota 04. The installer had to grind down the latch bars to get a bite surface. Clamps should be made to fit the locking bars. Otherwise they work great.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Waiting too long

How can they make this stuff so cheap?

I know, but to be honest I'll still use cheap labor wherever it's produced (probably Asia). But the one I installed in my driver's door works fine. I experimented a bit to get it working with my new alarm clock but it works and I'm happy. Can't wait to hook up the passenger door.

The instructions are TERRIBLE.

You must know a great deal before attempting to install this kit. I have a lot of mechanical experience, stay away from this kit or have a professional install it. I had to ask one of my buddies for help or I would have screwed it up. If he had better instructions I would easily give him 5 stars.

Electric door locks

. Contains everything you need to install electric door locks in a car with up to four doors. One of the drives connects the other three. My car is a 2 door so I only needed one 5 wire drive and one of the 3 2 wire drives. The driving distance is three quarters of an inch; and opens any door lock with an engaged lever mechanism. I used this kit with Pyle Watchdog #PWD 701 (also purchased from Revain.com). Together the two sets offer keyless entry and a great alarm system.!

Pros
  • are easy to understand even for the old
Cons
  • Hardware Sad

Little effort

I like this central locking very much (I currently use it in my Toyota MR2). It definitely works as advertised, but the wire is so thick that the connectors break easily. I cut two off the driver's door and decided to solder them all together. Also, I had trouble locking and unlocking the passenger side sequentially as the actual locking mechanism has relatively weekly movement. Patience is key, and after a while it steadily works.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • unreliable

never worked I have Doud!

The system's brain module was malfunctioning and my return has just expired. A little upset because it didn't work. I've had a lot of experience installing 12v accessories for years and it was so easy. Too bad it didn't work. When I used the main lock to lock or unlock, it danced between the two positions before locking. It never just opened or closed. I tried to contact the seller directly but they turned me down. It's now in a box and gathering dust. maybe sell for parts. So.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Expensive

Will get you out of impasse, but.

Most of the reviews on this product are correct. The instructions are very vague, some of the wires are too short (power wires and passenger door wires) and ALL the hardware in the kit is made of cheap materials. I actually broke one of the crank clamps because they are tin and not steel. So when I pulled the bars together, the strut broke. Also, because aftermarket universal linkages are slipped onto the actuators, they tend to rattle in the doors when driven at high speeds. Overall, althoughโ€ฆ

The quality is excellent, the wires are short.

These actuators look very high quality. I've tested them all and they all work. I have installed 3 of 4 on my wife's car (2003 Toyota Echo) and so far they are working great. Other reviewers have said that the cables are a bit short, which I felt was a gross understatement. You definitely need an extra wire to make everything fit (that's why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5). The instructions were a little lacking, but it's a fairly simple process, so with a little tweaking you should be upโ€ฆ

But in a good way! The locks are industry standard actuators

Let me start by saying that I have several decades of experience in the automotive maintenance industry and specialize in electronics. I got this to add some cheap electric locks to my off-road expedition truck. So do I, but in a good way! The locks are standard drives, very simple and designed to last. They have enough force to pick the locks and aside from their loudness, you'd have a hard time telling they're not factory made. I'm only taking off a star because the instructions are a jokeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
