Works great, tips are sharp and effective

Works great, tips are sharp and effective. I used them on a cast iron cylinder head to make some modifications. Ideally you want to use them in a drill press. I had to use a #8 countersink in such a way that it was inconvenient to place my work in the drill press, so I used a hand drill and a steady hand and it worked great. I will say my block of wood didn't have the word 'guilt' on it and the bits weren't engraved with 'guilt' so maybe I have a fake? Despite everything, the quality remains…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Dimensions needed for pilot and counterbore diameter

I wanted to add some 1/4"-20x1" cap screws to an aluminum part. The #10 countersink only picked up the pilot hole, not the countersunk hole which was too small in diameter to accommodate the cap screw. I had to use a 1/4" countersunk head to open the hole to allow the head of the aluminum cap screw to dig into the aluminum surface. This operation should have only required 1 countersunk bit instead of using another to finish the job. These drill bits are not suitable for SAE socket head screws…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

You roll the dice by buying them.

I got this as a gift from my father who has an Emco Maier lathe and a Bridgeport vertical milling machine in his garage. In fact, he chose them himself, and as for their qualities, he seems pleased with them. However, the manufacturer does a TERRIBLE JOB packaging them for shipping! You simply pop the countersinks into their little wooden block stand, place the block and its holes in the box, and then close the box. That's all. No bubble wrap, no air pockets, no styrofoam, no packaging…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
