Description of πŸ”§ Efficient Chucking Made Easy: Alvord Polk Straight Uncoated Chuck - Unmatched Performance

Straight flute reamers are recommended for general purpose reaming to make minor enlargements to existing holes with a very precise size and roundness. Straight flute reamers are good for use in through or blind holes without interruptions such as keyways (through holes extend through the entire workpiece, while blind holes do not). Round shank tools are cylindrical and should be held in a good-quality toolholder in order to prevent the reamer from slipping in high torque applications, which can cause tool freeze, loss of accuracy, and tool damage. Uncoated (bright) tools have no finish or coating. They are a good choice for general purpose applications. Cobalt steel is used for tough machining applications and on materials such as cast iron, cast steel and heat-treated steel. Cobalt steel resists abrasion and high cutting temperatures and has higher feed rates compared to high-speed steel.

Not as advertised

Advertising and packaging says 1/2 inch. The reamer is marked 14mm 0.5512 inch. Didn't find it soon enough to return it. Check it out when you receive it.

Pros
  • Reamers
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

You sent the wrong size. Detected after closing the return window.

It was in a sealed plastic case with a 1/2" rubbed cobalt steel tag on the window so I can't return it. Other than that it looks very nice, and if I ever need a 15mm reamer it should come in handy.

Cons

Bad reamers, wrong size in case

I ordered a 11/64" reamer, they sent me a 3/16" reamer. The listing shows a flat nose (exactly what I needed), the reamer has a pointed nose. If you look closely at the scan, you can see a lot of errors. Believe bad reviews. These reamers are of very poor quality, comparable to cheap Chinese made reamers. They say the reamers are made in the USA but I have my doubts.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Obsolete model
