🐠 Automatic Aquarium Fish Feeder with Timed Fish Food Dispenser for Fish Tanks Review

I was nervous to realize I had accidentally bought a cheap imitation rather than a big name product as I didn't have time to do it before our two week return vacation. Luckily it worked. I've only used it twice, but so far it's working perfectly. What I don't like is that it's a bit difficult to set up, but the famous brand's version shares this shortcoming.

Why buy this when you can buy the original for $5 more? It seems much cheaper than the Eheim filter. It requires alkaline batteries and will not work with rechargeable batteries (which I prefer). I haven't figured out how to set this either. Take the original made in Germany, not this cheap Chinese imitation. The design is so close they should be sued for patent infringement.

This stopped working after 2 days. The motor turns the product only 1/4 turn, 3/4 turn or sometimes 1+1/4 turn. The LCD screen dimmed around the time everything stopped working. Yes, I changed the batteries :) Leaving home for more than 1 day is too unreliable. I like that it has 4 timers. I like the size of the feeding. I bought this for my tortoise who uses small floating chopsticks. Too bad the electronics are rough.

The feeder is designed for fine-grained fish food and does not tolerate flakes very well. I'm using perfect round tropical chips and I'm having trouble with them. Odd sized flakes don't stand a chance. If you feed your goldfish fine grain food, this is for you. It's like Ehiem and that says it all. There is no double serve, there are only four single serves. No fan to push food out or keep it fresh. Uses a moisture wicking pad which you could taper if you had two if you wanted to. Pay more and…

I love these feeders. I have 4 now. I have never had a breakdown with them for several years, I use them. I've been using 2 for holidays for a few years. I have several different sized baby koi in the tank so I have a flake kit for the smaller ones and I need one to dispense mini koi pellets for the larger ones so I ordered 2 more. I set it up a few days before I leave and then put it on a paper plate to see how it turns out and make sure it's working well before I leave.

This thing was easy to set up and came with a clip to attach to the tank, but my 20 gallon tank's service hole in the back didn't fit so I had to use the included 3M sticker strip to placing it over the feed hole in the front of my gas cap. It was pretty easy to place it correctly. The feeder has an adjustable slider to adjust the size of the opening the feed comes out of. If you're like me, I've tossed between this Londafish and Eheim (which I used to have). I bought Londafish on 8/2018 and as of this writing I have replaced it with Eheim on 9/2018.
