The source of my frustration with the chain row counter is my own expectations. I haven't really thought about using the 'how'. I figured if the counter was on the needle I'd remember to count the row (like I did with the clicker or pen) and I think that's true. Rarely do I see a product with a solid 5 star rating but this is definitely one of those products. This is probably the best idea I've come up with in 30 years of knitting. I've tried all kinds of line counters and the problem is always the same - you have to remember to move forward.
