Problem screws on bracket

Some of these screws were missing "points", some others had "heads" (clogged) and the bit could not be used. different heads/sizes in a mixed box? It is necessary to "force" most screws to start drilling. (blunt tips) do not use with "impact wrenches", the heads break off!

Pros
  • Approximately 119 per pound
Cons
  • Something else

Grip-Rite 212CDWS5 2-1/2 " 8 coarse thread.

The product itself is perfect and I will definitely order again. I love how these screws sink into wood and how they hold (I use them to build 2x3 wood frames for fence panels for my ducks and chickens). What confuses me is that both times I've ordered the same product, the box has been cut open. open as needed.

Pros
  • 2-1/2" #8 horn head, #2 transverse drive
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Good quality control but squeaks quite a lot.

Apart from the fact that they squeak in wood, these are decent screws for the price. I would look for plated screws if you want a quieter experience. I had to wear hearing protection when assembling the workbench because no matter how big the pilot hole was drilled, the screws screened in and out very loudly. I haven't had any bad castings or issues removing/breaking them from the heads.

Pros
  • Sturdy box with viewing window and label
Cons
  • Very expensive
