Designed for European railings

Handrail kit not big enough for our handrail. The instructions on the website don't give the maximum diameter so I had to buy them to find out.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Fits

Lascal set for door and stair gates

Arrived as ordered. Doesn't work with our stair situation. It was a little unclear on Lascal's website how this works. We needed to tweak our mount and didn't need this kit. Credit received quickly and will order from this seller again. Real goals are amazing, they put my mind at ease when our little one comes to visit.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Basically good, but...

Looks great but no instructions

No instructions just parts and photos. There are also no actual how-to videos online, so you have to guess what the extra parts are all about. Finally, for a Lascal gate, you will need a kit to install another type of railing. So make sure you have the right type.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Secret

The maximum size of railing that can hold it is less than .

The maximum fitting railing size is smaller than the standard US railing. So yes, measure before ordering. I ended up getting that back and then painted the 1x3 piece to match the railing, attached it to the railing with zip ties and screwed the bracket to the 1x3. Looks presentable and serves its purpose.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product.

Very clumsy, doesn't work with wire rope railings

We have stainless steel wire railings on our stairs and because the wires are angled in the railing they won't attach at all. Instead, we simply attached the support bar to the stainless steel with metallic epoxy. It holds up great and is a lot less bulky than this railing mounting kit. When we want to remove the gate, the heat gun will remove the epoxy without damaging the stainless steel. Epoxy resin is much cheaper.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Almost never

Problem solved with baby gate

We have several small children and a dog to take care of. We have two staircases with railings at the bottom. This makes finding the gate very difficult. We have had a lot of experience with child gates over the last 8 years and this latch and the Lascal gate it was made for solved our problem. We will likely be leaving this gate in place after the children are grown, both for the dog and for any guests bringing young children into our home.

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it, everything is fine

Suitable for door and stair gates

Article shipped quickly and delivered without any problems. After that the seller emailed me to make sure I had no problems. The item itself works as expected and explained. Like the ones below, my railing is too big and I ended up using only one of the three brackets. I fell into this trap because I couldn't imagine how the whole setup would work. I ended up having to drill holes in the top and bottom of the railing and attach the kid's gate "latch". with screws. But there were no problems…

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things
