Not for 2005 Honda Odyssey Van

I ordered this to replace the strut mounts. I looked for the exact part number and it is listed as compatible in the product description. However, when I tried to install it, one of the heads was pointing the wrong way. Both are pointing forward when the top should be rotated 1/4 turn to the right. There is no way to turn your head. I am very disappointed as I expected this product to fix my rear sunroof before a family vacation.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Finish
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Great replacement for the 2010 Honda Odyssey!

Make sure your car's sunroof is fully open before removing the existing support legs. Support yourself with a ladder or have a second person open you. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry up the clips on the old ones on the car, then pull straight out to remove. Install the new one by pushing the bushing straight onto the ball. You may have to twist the end of the new one to align the socket with the ball. Using pliers, grasp the retaining clip and gently twist.

Unbelievable price

Unbelievable price. I bought these to replace broken powerlift struts on my 2009 Honda Odyssey. Installation was confusing at first as half of the instructions that came with it didn't apply to this item. All you really need is a flathead screwdriver to pry open the flat metal rings at each end of the jack. That way you can pull out the old jacks and snap the new jacks into place (someone has to hold the hatch open in the maximum position) - no screw required. I checked and the sunroof works…

Worked like clockwork

I recently purchased a used Honda Odyssey minivan with a motorized liftgate. The motor lifted the door, then it started beeping, and then the door slammed shut, crashing into everyone in its path. Reported that the racks are bad. It worked. Like new. Installation took 5 minutes. The holes didn't line up perfectly with the handles on the van. (Stands were slightly twisted). All I had to do was attach the top brackets to the van, then insert a Phillips screwdriver into the bottom holes and give…

Easy installation. IF. You install the floor first / 2005 Honda Odyssey

I'm a handy person and do a lot of work with cars, house projects, carpentry etc. I imagine the average handyman/person can struggle a little more than me with such things. Before I started I watched a few YouTube videos of this type of projects and will share my experiences. The only thing that matters in sellers is the instructions, which should be clear. is to mount the lower connection first (if the application is for a liftgate on the vehicle). I had no problem removing the old racks and…
