9 months < 9.1 years

$9 for 9 months usage? Life expectancy is given as 9.1 years at 3 hours per day. For those not interested in math, that's 413 days of continuous use. Considering this was installed in my bedroom closet, I'm guessing it was closer to 413 seconds a day than 413 consecutive days. Waste of money, avoid.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Almost never

As advertised in CFLs

As advertised. Note: Do not install cold! Package received, thrown into socket and POP! The world is broken. I realized the light was cold because it was outside. I let the second warm up to room temperature and it worked as intended. I think that in general such lamps are overpriced, but this company came up with the cheapest option.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Only lasted 7 months

Not long - ours stopped after 7 months of use - and didn't use it intensively. I wish I had bought a table lamp that uses these hard to find bulbs to start with - wasn't aware at the time. So the first recommendation is not to buy a lamp that uses these bulbs. Second recommendation - try to find a lightbulb that lasts longer, then come back here and let us know which one works!

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Should I stock up on those fancy little lightbulbs?

I'm glad I found these fancy little lightbulbs here as I couldn't find them in big stores. I would like to know that our contractor installed such a special bulb 10 years ago - I would ask him to replace it with a more conventional one. They last a long time and I've ordered a spare pair in the future but I hope Revain always sells them!

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Nothing here

EVERYWHERE BROKEN AND GLASS ARRIVED - SHARP AND CUT THE SKIN

Typical Chinese junk. Came broken, glass fell out of the box everywhere. I'd complain about him cutting off my arms, but China doesn't care about the Americans, so why bother. Returning and possibly using a flashlight in my attic instead of replacing that lightbulb. SALESMAN: Claims that you (TCP) are in Ohio. Please be careful of the things you send so that more people don't get hurt.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Ideal for Leviton CFL lights. 2 years in use and still ok

Update: They have been installed in my garage for over 2 years and they are ok. The last set lasted 5 years. The lights I use them in are motion activated so they don't stay on all the time. Custom-fit Leviton outdoor traffic light. These lamps are great for the garage and the bulbs will last a full year but will burn out over time and be hard to find. These TCP lamps are original equipment. They fit and work great. They light up quickly even in the cold. Leviton 9863-SEN Compact Fluorescent…

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Very expensive

Well I bought this bulb in September and now it's February. The lightbulb started blinking in January and then went out completely. Far from 9.1 years. Even if it was on all the time, which it isn't, almost not at all. I'm consistently disappointed with CFLs and LEDs, especially considering how much you're paying. But CFL is worse! They just don't seem to last. I would try to get a guarantee but you have to go through so many hurdles - one company (not sure about this one) had a 10 year…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
