Ideal for a 29 gallon pot

Take this review to everyone else, I'm a very experienced aquarist. I was looking for a good cowl to replace the old broken one on my 29 gallon top fin tank. Not only is the hood flat and very pretty, it fits perfectly on top of the tank and I also love the hinge opening feature. I have to say I have no idea what all the negative reviews about bad lighting are about. The lighting in this particular hood is more than enough to fully illuminate the aquarium and grow live plants. All my fish like…

Pros
  • LED AQUARIUM LIDS: Flat hinged lid features white LEDs for a natural underwater shimmering effect.
Cons
  • fade

LEDs are great, but lamp life is disappointing.

I think the name says it all. I bought it in October 2020 for our 10 gallon tanks. My wife and I enjoyed the brightness of the LEDs. However, the design of the system did not convince me. There is no protection of the facility from splashing water - there is no fence. Installing the hood lights is a simple, if sometimes frustrating, process. The hood is quite thin and feels

Pros
  • ACTUAL SIZE: 19.3125 inches wide x 9.375 inches deep x 2.5 inches high
Cons
  • boring packaging

However, this is not a filter test, but a lens hood / light test! Since I have a heating dock above the tank for my RES, I only need this hood for one side. It's perfect for half of my 55 gallon (bought 24x12)! No spaces, no problems. Assembly was very easy (you have to snap the LED lights into place, cut/bend any rear hole you want and attach…

Pros
  • SIZE RANGE: Tetra LED domes are available in multiple sizes to fit most rectangular aquariums.
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
