Hitbtc Exchange is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies exchanges and also one of the most traded (daily trade volume) crypto exchanges. For example, according to coinmarketcap, the daily trade volume of this exchange was $ 800 million, while the famous kucoin exchange had only about 160 million dollars daily trade volume.
I don't think hitbtc has been able to outperform its competitors in recent years, but it has always been one of the most controversial exchanges.
