Vintage Mini Paradise Blanket!

later If you love vintage quilts or mini quilts or both, you should definitely get this book. Just last year I ventured into making bed size quilts and creating miniature miniatures to decorate countertops and walls. In this book you will find 15 beautiful little quilt patterns that will brighten up any room. These little quilts aren't just a standard sized block with a set of borders like some so-called mini quilts I've seen. These designs are really tiny blocks (the smallest I could see is a 1 1/2 inch finished 4 patch in Mo's Suspenders) put together into cute quilts. The designs are not complex, so they're not above the beginner's level, but when creating miniatures you're working with such small details that stitching accuracy becomes critical. A beginner needs to be very careful to get accurate seams. The colored instructions are clear, if not long. Because the designs aren't complex, a lot of guidance isn't required. At the end of the book there is a six-page section on quilting basics that will be helpful for less experienced quilters. Anything made with Civil War recreations catches my eye, but not everyone is as good at pairing the right prints with quilt designs as I have been here. I want to do a few of these now, but I have too many projects in the works already. I know, it will not be a book that just stands on the shelf and is not used. Even if you're not particularly into Civil War fabrics but love small quilts, these designs will look great in everything from patchwork to designer collections. I would recommend, as mentioned in another review, to use smaller prints otherwise the design will be lost when cut into small pieces for quilts. Some medium-sized prints are suitable for the borders of most quilts. I rarely buy a quilt book without first reviewing it, but I pre-ordered this book and I'm definitely not disappointed. from patchwork to designer collections.
