This could have been a great tripod head if some effort had been put into the design rather than just mindlessly copying elements from some common heads. I wonder if it has ever been tested? I like that this is an all-metal 3-way tripod head and the metal parts are thick and strong. I also like the Arca-Swiss style quick release plate that allows for quick connection, as well as some advanced camera and lens position adjustments (especially important when working with close-up/macro photography). While it's supposed to be a smooth video head, the motion is too stiff and trying to move the head will cause the tripod to move as well (destroying any hope of smooth video). Therefore…

It's a piece of crap as delivered. But with a little effort you can make a great tripod head out of it. Here are the problems I had: 1. When the head was mounted on my Manfrotto 3443 carbon fiber tripod, tightening the 3 set screws on the underside of the tripod mounting plate (which prevent the head from unscrewing) resulted in the panning movement becoming blocked, also on friction panning. / The lock handle is loose.
