Joshs Frogs Substrate Barrier X18 Review

Product was purchased for use in terrariums with multiple glazed walls. Saved the substrate from a false bottom. Works well.

This one won't let water through! This keeps your ABG mixture soaked and not dripping! So disappointed! I want my money back!

Works great BUT you can get a few FEET of these at home stock / Lowes / Walmart for the same price or cheaper. It's just a mulch garden barrier.

I think it fits my 2ft hex tank but barely. Super small part for the price. Wouldn't buy it again. Find a better deal elsewhere.

thought it was a lot more material and would at least try to price compete with others offering the same material at a lower price than what you get here. nope I won't buy this again.

I use it in both my terrarium and vivarium. I personally prefer this over wire mesh. The overlying substrate remains outside of the "false soil", including microparticles of the substrate. At Josh's Frogs you can always count on fast delivery and quality.

Well it definitely works as a barrier because it doesn't let anything through. Even water. I trimmed it, laid it on top of my drainage layer and decided to test it out before adding the entire substrate. I'm very glad I did it now. After I poured some water over it, it pooled on the barrier and didn't go through. I figured it might be slow dripping so I left it overnight and the next day the water was still up. Unfortunately, this defeats the purpose of use over a drainage layer.
