On the sides and back they have a very hard, hard, raised edge. I sent them back immediately as I was concerned my toddler would hurt her foot if she ever stepped on or caught the edge of the shoe.

Bought these for my kids before the holiday and they were perfect. They fit perfectly and stay on the foot even when bathing in the lake (rocky bottom).

Perfect fit for our very active 3 year old. These are his favorite sandals. Easy to clean, his feet don't get super dirty compared to some others we've tried. It's also easy to put on.

They are great quality and perfect for wide little feet. The adjustable strap at the back and top makes them perfect. These shoes are so cute, and surprisingly great quality for the price. Planning on buying more colors.

My son loves these shoes but they fall apart very quickly. My son is a runner and his elastic started breaking within the first week.

My 8 year old son has worn these sandals through the streets of Panama, through the rainforest, through the historic district of Panama and everywhere we have walked. They are in good condition and still look like new. Definitely recommend.

My little boy is on the autism spectrum and has some texture issues. He refused to wear them because of the uneven texture of the insole. Most kids probably wouldn't have a problem, but my little guy did. I had to send them back.

This is a repeat order for us, we ordered a different color and size for our child last summer. She places very high demands on shoes, but they hold up very well. This particular color is very light and my boy Tom likes it as it's not overly pink or purple but still has a feminine touch to it. I'm sure I'll be buying another pair next summer as long as they make them her size.

They are good for everyday use for my daughter and school even with water but when they arrived they had a bad smell, I even tried washing and soaking them and the smell still lingers on them. I'm not sure what the material of them is but the only thing I don't like about them.

We've only been using them for a week and we haven't used them river kayaking as planned; But so far they're great. My daughter's feet are usually between 4 and 4.5. My son just turned 5 and wears a size 12. I bought a size 12 and they fit perfectly. He even has a small room. I ordered a size 4 in black for my 8 year old son who is actually a size 3. I would say they definitely fit true to size. Still, they're big, but the velcro on the back and the drawstring closure allows him to wear them and they don't fall off or look like boats.
