Toilet Dampener Removal Tips

They are NOT easy to remove. Over time, all corks harden with age. Their design makes it difficult to remove. They are not a traditional on/off clip. When new, the plastic is malleable. They just show up. No problem. Removing the old one is much more difficult. We ended up just cutting them off with scissors. However, I would buy them again. They seem to be doing their job. However, note that removing it will require more work in the future.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • unreliable

Product works great on my Gerber toilet

This damper corresponds to Gerber part GA715014-GEG1. Installs easily. works perfectly. easy to open packaging with transparent sleeve are welcome. I smelled something of a skunky smell when I first opened it. But underwater in the toilet cistern shouldn't be a problem. The part is a bit expensive, but cheaper than in this big store. I hope this replacement will last much longer than the original in my 2-1/2 year old house.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Excellent replacement part OME

Super fast delivery in one day. Perfect replacement for the original manufacturer part. I went with the more expensive part because it was described as premium and it was. The rubber was nice and supple and it took five minutes to swap out the old part. Bought two packs to fix two leaking toilets and they have worked great on both Gerber toilets. Definitely recommend. The original crackers were six years old. I hope the new ones last 4-5 years.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Difficult to find a replacement for an old US standard toilet

I have an old US standard toilet and had a lot of trouble finding the right valve. I even called the company and they couldn't find my 10 year old model number. 3-inch dampers are either irregular and let water through or are too bulky and won't close. This one looked and functioned exactly like the previous one which lasted almost 10 years before it started losing water.

Pros
  • . Very impressive
Cons
  • Not bad

Get the recommended part to get the job done right

Before researching recommended replacement parts, I tried a couple of "universal" roller shutters - none of them worked. They didn't let enough water into the bowl before closing it. This valve was custom made for my toilet tank and now the water flows perfectly. Note. I had to replace the flapper because I used Clorox Bleach to clean the bowl. The granules clean well, but they quickly weaken and discolor the valves.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Retrofittable

Replaces Gerber damper A700895

It was difficult to find a damper that would fit my Gerber toilet which was marked as damper #A700895-GEG1. This valve fit and worked perfectly. The second toilet, which was installed at the same time as the first, also needed a damper replacement. With the last one, I can't estimate how long the originals lasted 4 years in the toilet before small amounts ran into the bowl and filled with water again. Tank from time to time when not in use.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • No performance

Just like the original and works!

My original valve still leaks even after cleaning. Buying fixed it! Very easy to install. Beautiful turquoise blue color. Looks just like the original flapper. Highly recommended if your original is starting to leak and it is the same size. I first looked at Home Depot and Lowes for a replacement but they didn't have anything close by. Then I found this one and it matched my old one perfectly. I would definitely buy again. FYI my old shock lasted 4 years and I expected it to be the same so I…

Ideal for Gerber 1.28 toilet!

Suitable! I could not find the right size for my toilet or valve in the description. I saw in one of the questions someone answered that WDI-B4802-1 is suitable. I decided to order and try. Of course it's written right on that valve, WDI-B4802-1, if anyone is looking for that specific number, here it is. He replaced my shock with the same printed part number and other part codes that it is compatible with according to the Gerber brand: A700895-GEGI; or 99-042 for a Gerber 1.28 GPF toilet. 2…

A good replacement for a Gerber toilet.

We have two Gerber toilets with 28-990 cisterns rated at 1.28 gallons per flush. The original dampers did not stay open long enough for enough water to flow out of the tank to clear the bowl of solid debris. Dampers tend to be easy to assemble, and so are they. The only adjustment I had to make was to move the clip that is flush with the handle so it was a few inches shorter on the chain (a few inches closer to the valve). This allowed the damper to open fully to the vertical position. I also…
