Preset, no adjustment needed

It's great that I was able to get it working right away without any adjustments. I do a lot of fiber optic installs and they cut and remove very cleanly and get good light level readings afterwards. This is my second pair, same as before, straight out of the box and ready to use with no adjustments. Will buy again from this seller.

My top pick of strippers

I've tried other big brands but they didn't really interest me. They are my number one choice because I love how they are made and they are a trusted name when it comes to fiber optic equipment. The little thing is in the middle that you can adjust how close they are. This paint will peel and rust. I wish they would either offer a better finish or maybe stainless steel and match the price but then it lasts forever.

Great ergonomics and performance, but check your adjusting screw!

They work well, feel good in the hand and remove food without having to tilt them. However, my set screw wasn't set correctly from the factory (that's a bit disappointing and the reason I didn't give 5 stars). I adjusted the set screw and now they work flawlessly for me. I prefer their feel to many other fiber removers on the market. Buy with confidence, but be sure to test out a spare fiber and adjust the set screw if necessary. Background: I am a professional fiber welder so they are used a…

This is a pretty good inexpensive fiber stripper. Unfortunately, the first one I got had a poorly sized center hole that was too small and microscopically cut the fiber right through the buffer coating. The fiber then broke either when removing the buffer coating or when trying to firmly insert the fiber into the connectors. The other 2 holes were perfect. Sent it back and the new pad was much better. The 250 µm hole was a much better size and did not cause such problems. The 125µm hole for…

High quality and reliable fiber optic cable stripping tool for home use

I bought this to run fiber optic cables around the house. This tool proved to be much more reliable than a similar but only 2 hole stripping tool that came with a cheap "fiber optic install kit" I bought from the Revain marketplace. I was able to safely strip fiber optic cables. Install dozens of fiber endpoints. The three holes/notches line up perfectly with my cable size, allowing me to carefully remove the outer jacket, inner jacket, and acrylic coating on the fiber core. With the two-hole…

Very nice for the price.

These strippers perform well on both singlemode and multimode fibers. Contrary to some other reviews, I didn't have to adjust my pair at all. (The only minor issue I had was stripping some of the exposed fibers in very cold outside conditions (near freezing) and breaking the fiber when attempting to strip. However, I think this has more to do with the fiber being more brittle is in the cold; when I heated it it worked fine without breaking. The only thing I can think of is that the metal of the
