Different sized sleeves and painted rods complicate installation.

Bushings and locknuts were different sizes when I installed them on my truck. I bought a separate set of bushings but when I installed the lock nut it stripped the threaded rod due to the paint coating. Before installing the lock nuts I would suggest running a die through the full length of the threaded rod to remove any coating.

Pros
  • Unique airless hydraulic unit prevents power loss
Cons
  • Slightly cracked

Happy with the shock absorbers and recommend them

I bought front and rear shock absorbers for my 02 Silverado and I can notice a slight difference in the movement of my truck. They were bought to replace Monroe Reflex monotube shocks that had over 100,000 miles on them, but I can say they never impressed me at first. I see a big difference to the KYB on rough roads and in handling. Satisfied with shock absorbers and recommend.

Pros
  • The damping efficiency is 25% higher than the original shock absorbers
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Excellent performance, fits spares

I installed them on my Silverado 1500 with 20" wheels. I also replaced the Monroe Sensatrac with a Kyb after the End of Life offered by Monroe. I had free dampers for life! However, I had to change the shocks every 10,000 miles in the city. I've done this three times. So I read about kyb and tested it and I'm very satisfied. Very good control and handling. They feel great even when I fill the bed of my truck with my garden soil. Who knows how much they weigh but the shock still works great in…

Pros
  • Gas-a-Just responds to load changes and provides instant response on GM trucks
Cons
  • High price
