Not Fit: Hood Release Cable

General Cable is shorter than OEM. Still fits, but the steel cable inside is too short so the ball end doesn't reach the latch when fully extended. would not recommend

Some modifications required

Worked great on my 2004 A4 but the release handle had to be modified as the cable was about 3/8" shorter to keep the hood closed. Otherwise it works great.

The cable is 2 inches shorter than the stock cable

The cable is well made, it slides well in the case, but unfortunately it is about 5 cm shorter than the cable that came in the car. I was still able to use the cable, but I couldn't route it through the original attachment slots. Instead, I had to cut corners and let it dangle freely in the wheel well. I have an A4 Avant (estate), maybe the sedan doesn't have this problem?
