Just Installed: Replacement Parts

Just installed my 3 row heatsink and fan shroud on my 94 Miata. Fits well, but cools very well. Had to add a little more coolant than this great product as expected.

Pros
  • Inlet and Outlet: 1.25" / Core Thickness: 2.05" / Tank Wall Thickness: 0.08"
Cons
  • Socket Required

Alright: Engine Cooling and Air Conditioning

Didn't know you had to recycle old equipment. I've already had 2 overheating episodes within 2 months of installation and I'm not sure of the full cause but they occurred while driving normally in 70 degree weather (no idling etc) with a full blown smoke show. Will not fit their own silicone hoses so you will need to cut them to fit flush. The drain plug was very loose upon delivery and I foolishly didn't think to tighten it, so I lost a ton of coolant as well. The welds are great and it looks…

Pros
  • Mazda Miata 1.6L/1.8L compatible 1990-1997
Cons
  • Nothing here

I've read conflicting opinions on the forums about the temperature difference between two and three rows, but I still went with the three row option. I installed it with a Mishimoto fan shroud and it fits perfectly with no modifications and seems to take up as much space as an OEM heatsink and OEM shroud (the 2-row option is thinner than the OEM version). BTW, I've found many people have had success with unnamed aluminum heatsinks on Ebay for a lower price, but you're paying for a reliable name

Pros
  • Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty
Cons
  • Available in white only

Tight fit, good cooling

Installation: I installed this on a Miata 96, which has a larger front anti-roll bar. Although it can be mounted on standard fans without modification, it is very tight. As a side note, I had to get it into the car by squeezing it out from under the car instead of throwing it in. To install the bottom pins I had to use a vise to hold the heatsink firmly against the rubber. socket to reinsert the clips. Cooling: In terms of cooling performance, I'm pretty impressed. Here is a comparison between…
