In fact, it is waterproof and airtight.

I have a project where this lid is pressurized with water about 4 feet up and then the Pumo vacuum pulls the water out of the bucket. NO other lids I have tried have worked. Gama Seal caps from Lowes, Home Depot, Tractor Supply, and Wal-Mart have failed due to mold defects that cause sealing problems at the cap. This lid was perfect and had no sealing issues.

Pros
  • 100% Service: Enjoy 100% uptime with our one month service.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Does not fit in many 5 gallon buckets

I'm a packer saving 5 gallons. Containers that I can clean well enough to reuse. I have 2 brands of seal buckets that are spotless and these lids don't fit either. The only buckets I could use them with were Black Jack elastomeric buckets. But even fitting them properly took a lot of hits with a rubber mallet and a block of wood. I'm glad I only bought 3. My next purchase will be from another seller who doesn't sell Asian knockoffs. A real feed bucket might work, but don't expect it to work…

Pros
  • Substantial Use: Fits 5 gallon plastic buckets for storing cereal, oats, flour, beans, sugar, pasta, rice, pet food, cat litter and more.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Uncomfortable threaded cap

Good: The ring fits snugly enough on the rim of a standard paint bucket (5/6/7 gallons). Threading and requires a lot of twisting after proper engagement. Ugliness: This doesn't work with Home Depot's cheap orange buckets, which have non-standard rims, making this a complete HD bug. The problem can be solved by redesigning the product to use multiple (2/3/4) concentric steps. For four turns, the cap only needs to be turned an average of 3/8 turn (135Β°): 1/8 turn back to engage the threads and…

Pros
  • Installation: Easy installation, a rubber mallet can help for a tight installation.
Cons
  • Damaged
