Valentine V1 Radar Detector Suction Mount Bracket by Radar Mount Review

It works great but the materials are cheap plastic and it doesn't look like it will stand the test of time. I see it as an iPhone cable, expensive but a must have. If it breaks I'll probably just buy another one, although it's quite expensive. There are no other similar mounts for the V1.

Worked great at first but now after a while it no longer sticks to the windshield and the plastic area around the suction cup has literally warped from the heat. Cheap plastic + heat = defective products for us in hot regions. I really wanted this to work as the alternative doesn't allow for much mirror movement. I would avoid this if you are in an area where temperatures reach over 90 degrees.

If you're reading this review which was posted in the last week or two definitely don't buy as I had to re-order Three times in the box seems correct but the product inside weren't all three the same so don't buy I had to go to another seller and also the factory supplied mount is much smoother and works great

Only used in the winter so far, haven't tested it in the Texas heat, but so far it's a solid mount. We've been using it for about 2 months. You can really customize your v1. Mine is mounted high near the rearview mirror. The bracket fits well and holds the v1. Some say the heat distorts suction, I have yet to experience that on a warm day but only time will tell. Edit: 3 years later the mount is still holding up lol.

—UPDATE: Two years later I'm still very happy with this unit and use it almost every day. It's still like new. This is a very well made unit that should last at least as long as the radar itself. It keeps the V-1 much more stable than the original. As for the reliability of the suction cup, it absolutely takes the factory mount out of the water. For the price it is very well made. Gives me the ability to fit the contour of my new car's window much better than the V1 mount. I have used suction cups for many years. Heat and drought can cause them to fall off over time. I usually change them every few years. This mount does it all, it's very strong, very easy to adjust and can move in almost any direction so there are lots of ways to mount it if your heart desires. A year later no complaints, the suction power is amazing and I've never gotten in my car to find my expensive radar on the floor like other suction products I've tried before. I love it and if it ever breaks I will buy another one. But I doubt it will ever break, it's a beast and looks good!
