Only 24 shots per roll - EXPENSIVE!

The film is not bad. The colors tend to be warmer. The real problem with this film is the misleading price. Let's face it - we expect all 36 frames to be on film. There are only 24 of these in each role! In fact, you pay almost 35% more per roll. Pretty bad deal.

Fun when you know its limitations and use them for fun

The Ultramax 400 is oddly grainy and contrasty, which can be fun if you get the exposure right. Dark areas can sometimes be much darker than in real life, underexposed shadows can be jet black, overexposed highlights can be white and become overexposed very easily. Underexposed shots can have weird greens or yellows depending on colors and lighting, and some random colors can show through, which is funny. f/1.7 and I just used the built in light meter and overexposed about half a stop.
