Very difficult to manoeuvre.

I would like to return this product. We bought it to hold our Vortex Scope. The scope is heavy and while this tripod is very stable, it is difficult to move it into different positions.

i can't win - Full racks

First of all, Vortex has the best guarantee on their products. This alone is worth the price of one of their products. This tripod is great. Solidly built. Has all the necessary features and additions. zero complaints.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick

Unsatisfactory Pan Head Handle

The pan handle used for panning and twist lock is inconvenient in both length and diameter. I am a woman with small hands and using the knob to rotate the scope is NOT suitable. More grip required with prolonged use. Another head seems to be the only solution.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons

Great tripod for a large scope.

The improvement in stability and usability has been incredible. Now bird watchers want to use mine whenever possible. The "shoe" is securely fixed with a screw attachment (silver in the photo). It's so secure that you can carry your scope without fear of dropping it like you would with less secure methods. The pickup arm really does hold its place when tightened. This is the biggest improvement in my birding experience and comes with a GREAT warranty and customer service. VORTEX is a GREAT…

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Reliable tripod where nothing is superfluous.

Bought for hunting game. Because I wanted a tripod that would support my big redfield scope and this one works great. Yes, it's a bit heavy, but that's my scope. The platform fits snugly on it and you can get spares for whatever else you use the tripod for. The head rotates well and is padded to prevent rocking with a heavy object on it. It would have been better to have at least a foam covered shoulder upper, but I've adapted. The leg sections use a clip which is preferred over twist locks…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Availability in exchange

  • camera and photo
