The Best Value Tripod!

I was so happy to find this tripod because it’s well-made, light weight, sturdy, and a great value compared to others. You will not regret this tripod for a mobile astrophotography setup. I am using it with a Star Adventurer 2i Pro. It is the perfect design for this type of star tracker.

Great support when you need to be near the ground

I use this for taking pictures of waterfalls. My gear is moderately heavy: a Sony A99ii body with a premium lens (a Sigma 12-24mm f4.5-5.6 DG HSM II or a Sigma 35mm f1.4 DG HSM ART). I need to get the camera close to the ground to capture the pool and rocks in the foreground; so I minimum height matters, but maximum height doesn't. The best travel mini tripod period

Over the years I have used several tripods and this one is simply beautiful looking and stable enough for pretty much any DSLR.Clearly it’s a very short tripod however it’s a solid base and if highly it’s not needed this does the job wonderfully.I have also purchased the additional central column extension, let’s say that that adds highly however adds some degree of instability. Very Nice combo for stable portable tripod option.

Searched for a few weeks, trying to find something small I can pack but use for a professional camera or smaller. I don't plan to shoot video with this but I have tested it and its actions are pretty smooth if I am in a pinch. The two pieces really make it easy to pack, wide range of options, and overall construction is excellent. I wish it were half the weight but it is very stable if used correctly, so a keeper for my needs.

Light, Sturdy, Easy to use

This tripod is awesome! I chose this one after a fair bit of research, and I'm glad I did. It's as light as advertised (I weighed it with a food scale), and the build quality is excellent. The aluminum joints lock onto place very positively, and the ball head is butter smooth. Would buy again.

Built quality is high!

It's good quality built and functional item. I use this at home for streaming and it's good enough if you set it up on the table. Also, easily pick it up and set up for another angles. I love this and looking forward to get tall one for using it outdoor.

Amazing Travel Tripod

I own several tripods already, including Gitzo, Velbon, and Leofoto . But I am still very impressed with Sirui AM-284, which is slim, lightweight, and great for travel. Compared to its competitor Leofoto LS-284C, they are very similar in design, specs, and quality. Leofoto LS-284C ranks very high in TheCenterColumn.com's travel tripod rankings while Sirui hasn't been tested by the website. However, based on my own non-scientific test, Sirui seems to be even stiffer than Leofoto, probably due to

Great tripod: my feedback

The only problem you are going to have with this is the feet keep on screwing and the ballhead on top is not the best quality. Put a little Loctite on the feet and put the JOBY ballhead 3K pro on it and you will have a great camera tripod.

Solid for it's weight, and well made.

It was time for a modern lite tripod.I dreamed about a bowl leveling base, but could not mitigate the extra weight.For vidio I would go for such a base.With this unit I try not to extend the last set of legs.But they do a marvelous job.I knew this tripod's hight, but am finding it uncomfortably short at times.It is better down on the ground for macro than expected. Tripod is only 4 feet tall. Difficult for astrophotography.

The AM284 is less than 4 feet tall at its max. You have to bend down when you aim your camera towards the sky which is annoying. I am going to get the center column, but was hoping to avoid this due to stability being affected. Most other tripods are at least 56 inches tall without having to get a center column.

Missing Parts & Broken

When it arrived it was missing the piece where it attached to the camera. I returned it and the new one was broken and would not extended. I decided to refund after two attempts to order it.
