Samsung 28 " 4K - the new standard

Background. It's not uncommon for many of us to have monitors that we just keep using because they never seem to break. This was my base for many years and several desktop updates. Samsung LU28E570DS showed me error to continue this way. I connect two different workstations to the same monitor for testing purposes. The first machine is connected to an AMD RX470 via HDMI and the second to an NVIDIA 1080Ti via DisplayPort. I switch between monitor workstations with the switch on the back. Disclosure: I received this product at a reduced price in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Unpacking. When I first received the monitor, the packaging seemed a bit strange to me. Rather than opening the top of the box, this monitor wanted you to lay the box flat and open from the center of the side. It was the first time. This helped in terms of presentation, compared to trying to pull the monitor out vertically I was able to easily reach the large screen and lift it slightly. In terms of accessories, it comes with a full-length HDMI cable and a full-length DisplayPort cable. This was perfect for my use case as I'm running it on two different workstations. The stand was easy to install and my desk featured this monitor. Switch on - Wiring was easy, plug and play. No additional configuration is required for any of the workstation connectors. My first reaction after turning on the monitor was shocked at how bright it was. The colors are bright and the white is off. General Use - Watching videos and gaming feels like I have a new workspace with just this monitor. As sharp and bright as everything looked, I couldn't wait to watch my first true 4K movie on this screen. It didn't disappoint. Additional Thoughts. There are a few things I would like to say to others about this monitor. The wall bracket on the back panel attaches to the top of the screen. Depending on your mount, this can cause problems on your desk or wall when replacing a monitor that used to be more central. The joystick control takes some getting used to. Conclusion - I really enjoy using this monitor. Having been a multi-monitor user for as long as I can remember, I can really ditch them and just use that one monitor. After several weeks of almost daily use of this monitor, I did not notice any negative points. Once again, Samsung has thrown him off course.

Pros
  • I use this for games. It's pretty good for the price
Cons
  • Screen Tearing: This occurs when the monitor's refresh rate is too slow, causing the image to appear choppy or distorted.
