Review on AOC G2460PF 1920x1080 Adjustable DisplayPort 144Hz Monitor with Tilt Adjustment, Flicker-Free Technology, Wall Mountable, USB Hub, G Series LED by Ryo Wilk

I spent a small tax refund on a couple of them because I needed something to do my graphics card justice. My little-used 900p monitor is a trooper, but it was limited to 75Hz. And I didn't waste $350 on the R9 290x for nothing. The picture is fantastic, although even two monitors of the same model have different color temperatures etc, it took a while for both to match. The Windows color calibration does an excellent job here. I opened Counter-Strike: Source to see how smooth it was, and it's definitely smooth. My card averages around 300 fps on older Source games at max settings, so this was a great test. Especially since the source engine still looks pretty. The UFO test also showed excellent results. However, I recommend leaving Freesync disabled. This causes a slight input lag in many games and bugs in many other games (e.g. CS:GO stutters and flickers like crazy). It's still incredibly smooth, and you're unlikely to notice screen tearing at 144Hz anyway. My only issue is that the power buttons on both monitors are unresponsive for a long time. Sometimes it takes a little more effort than just hearing a key click. I don't know if it's just me with dual monitors or if it's common to all monitors of this model. In any case, it's a little frustrating when you mess up the alignment of your monitors just to turn them on or off and have to realign them so they don't look crooked. So, AOC, if you're reading this, PLEASE GET THE ON/OFF BUTTON. This is the only reason keeping this review from getting 5 stars. MAKE SURE BRIGHT FRAME IS ON AND IMAGE SIZE SET TO 100%. OTHERWISE YOUR PICTURE WILL BE REALLY FAST AND GRAY. IT IS 75 Hz BY DEFAULT, RESULTING IN A DISPLAY OF ONLY 75 FPS. GOOGLE "UFO TEST" TO ENSURE THAT THE SETTINGS ARE APPLIED.
