On the left, I have my new AOC G2460VQ6 ($130 at the time of purchase) connected via DisplayPort to my NVIDIA GTX 1050 at 70% brightness. On the right, I have a Samsung S24B300 ($100 at the time of purchase) that I've had set to 100% brightness for a number of years, connected via HDMI. 1 ms response time and 75 Hz refresh rate with the display port, the price really can't be beat. When playing video games (yes I can play video games with this graphics card) I noticed a big difference in fps stability and overall response time. Little did I know that a simple monitor and new display cable could really make such a big difference. I've seen many complaints about washed out colors and screen brightness, and I can say that I don't think that applies to me (again, I'm not often in the monitor market, so that's for you to judge). I even saw recommendations in the comments on how to adjust the RGB percentages to get the best image. So, the settings are what I like, and there are a few options in the menu to work with. The only point where I think it falls a bit short is the overall quality of the material and workmanship. For example, my old Samsung, which isn't a gaming monitor and has a response time of over 7ms, has a nice smooth surface and slides on the touch. Also, all "buttons" are handy number keys that you simply have to press to make them work, while my AOC has some mechanical touch keys. Also, the AOC has a slight bulge on the back, while my Samsung is smooth and thin on the back. I can ignore everything and still give it 5 stars because, as I said, it's more of an affordable gaming monitor than a normal flat screen. So I'm guessing you're trading some of that glamor for hardware (or hopefully). My biggest questions are: will this stand the test of time? I've had a Samsung monitor for over 4 years and haven't had a single broken filament or pixel and I've moved this thing around a lot. I've only had the AOC monitor for 2 weeks. I will update this if anything changes. Pros: + Accessibility + Games + Color/Brightness adjustment + 1ms response time / 75Hz refresh rate. In other words, will the glamor last? I hope I don't have to replace this screen in the near future? If I run into problems, will Square Trade's $3 insurance help me?
