It could crash your entire network

3 days ago my network was working out of nowhere. After checking everything, I thought my router was defective. He was difficult to work with and did not work as he should. Today I diagnosed it with this dongle but as soon as I unplugged it from the switch it connected to my network and it started working again like nothing happened. This dongle was connected to a switch with 4 switches in front of it and still had the ability to completely shut down my network. 3 days ago I connected it to myโ€ฆ

Doesn't sit tight in the port. Update: now unusable.

I have a Lenovo Yoga. This hub does not fit tightly into the port. Now when I work from home using an ethernet connection, group calls keep dropping. Sometimes it's so strong that it's impossible to understand me. Is there a way to make this better so I don't have to hold it in place? It was fine until I needed to support more Zoom and Skype meetings. But now it's almost not worth it. I live in a city with a lot of 2G, 4G and 5G traffic, so WiFi is not the best option. Update: June 2020 I added

Loose connector, failed after 2 weeks, damaged monitor

Edit: Note that the seller offered more money than the refund amount to remove this review. This might affect the overall rating if others suggest and accept the same thing. -Original Review - Changes noted-for: Comes with a nice storage caseCompact form factor with lots of ports Cons: The USB-C connector is very loose and wobbles 30 degrees from the top downward. If not held within 10 degrees of center, it will constantly disconnect, resulting in a shorted connection, sometimes requiring aโ€ฆ

Update March 2021 I spoke too early. It's been almost a year since I bought it and it still doesn't work. The HDMI and VGA ports no longer work. I know it's the device because I connected the monitor to a Windows laptop with an internal VGA port and the monitor works as expected. I don't understand how a device with no moving parts can just stop working. Update January 2021 After replacing this device last year, it has been stable since August. Heat is still an issue with the device, but itโ€ฆ

Surprise the results of the iPad experiment.

I recently started migrating from a Windows PC to an Apple (PC?) version. I say Apple PC because I'm trying to create a desktop environment with all the accessories based on my PC. My mix of parts; iPad Pro 12.9 2020 (256G, Wi-Fi Only), PC Components: USB-A Mechanical Keyboard, Logitech BT Ergo Trackball Mouse, Bose Companion Series III Speakers, 34-inch 4K Ultrawide Display with NIC Gig fiber. POSITIVE FIRST RESULTS. I'm getting 833 Mbps and 98 Mbps, so it's actually a 10/100/1000 NIC port. Iโ€ฆ

Amazing device! with a small flaw.

I love this device! I bought this as a bundle to turn my new Surface Pro 7 into a complete portable powerhouse and this hub station is a big part of that. So here's my setup: I bought a USB-C charger that I plug into this device, this device plugs into my Surface Pro 7 to charge the battery. It then connects to the local network, a USB portable hard drive (3.0 speed, by the way!) and my Blu-ray player. The whole thing is then connected to at least 1 TV VIA HDMI, sometimes I also use theโ€ฆ

Technical review: Good feature set

= Summary = It just works; and it's one of the cheapest hubs you can find with this feature set. Drivers should not be needed in normal computer operating systems. The only quirk is that the audio jack needs an HDMI output. There is no sound card in the hub; It only converts HDMI audio to analog. = Specs = 4x USB 3.1 Gen 1 with USB 2.4A fast charge support - 2x USB dedicated to card reader and gigabit ethernet - 500 MB/s (450 MB/s actual) max speed of all devices (card + ethernet) and USB ports

Pros
  • Availability
Cons
  • I don't really like anything, everything is fine
