USB ports stop working very quickly

I bought Anker because of the overall quality of their products and because I needed reliable USB ports on an extension cord. Unfortunately, after less than a month, they stopped working. Only used to charge an iPhone and turn on the LED ring light but they just stopped working one afternoon. Not a big purchase.

Annoying talk about accessories and consumables

I went ahead and plugged everything into all the outlets. The USB outlets don't provide enough power to charge the Anker wireless charging station that I own. Also when using the surge protector there is a very annoying buzzing that is driving me crazy. Very disappointed that I paid over $50 for a product that doesn't live up to its pricing standard. I thought you get what you pay for.

Home use, suitable for power strips

Overall surge protection is great. A sufficient number of ports and the distance between them. This item is not suitable for travel. The power output is fine if you don't use all ports (USB and USB-C). I feel they should design a surge protector that offers the advertised maximum performance per port. I knew about this power split before buying, so it doesn't bother me. Anker, please change your product names to correctly state the power output, not the maximum.

You have to press very hard and it will probably hold the plug

This extension is fine. Maybe Anchor isn't that good with shards yet. All my other Anker products are excellent. Some power plugs require you to press the last 1mm to "lock" the plug, otherwise it may come loose. Even if it breaks, you have to worry about it coming off. I think the engineers designed it to close on the very last 1mm. Give it some buffer and maybe 2.5mm or 3mm and fix it. Don't wait for the last 1 mm.

It would be great if I could connect my devices. I'm not joking.

There were high hopes. The previous version of this product was defective and has been returned. Some 3-pin power cords are not suitable. Guess what? New model, same problem. In my 20 year career in the industry I have never found an extension cord that does not accept plugs. It was, of course, until I found Anchor. Mistake? special feature? Who knows. Either way, it will come back. Anchor, done, new product engineers. Your design team did a great job. Beautiful design and elegant in theory…

Worst mounting holes ever

I bought this because A) anchor vs unknown brand and B) the comments said there were mounting holes. But these are the most useless mounting holes I've ever seen. a very small screw head is required, positioned with millimeter precision or it will fall off as there is about 3mm of slot left before the screw head hits the plastic support. The holes are also on the back, if you plan to mount it vertically you'd better be prepared for the cable sticking up. Maybe just get some double sided tape…

Once again, Anker gets it right

This is a simple surge protector with extra USB ports. All six outlets are spaced far enough apart to accommodate wall warts, with two a little farther back. This also allows them to accommodate many smart plugs. I bought two because I thought I would use one for travel - and since the pandemic restrictions have eased a bit here in Washington, traveling is easier - but finding a hotel room with more outlets isn't easy, so I guess that I did the right thing here. =) The surge protection rating…

How I would design my own surge protector power strip

Catched my attention as the receiver was still using an old 80's Korean power supply, literally the size and shape of brickwork. Brick, 4 outlets (full credit for 40 years of trouble free service). You'll never see this again, in the modern era of one-day, testy, cynically designed marketplaces filled with Chinese technology. But that's not this product. It's 1/4 weight, 1/3 height, 1 inch longer and the same width, but has a 1280J surge protector (compared to an analog fuse - not replaceable…
