Works great, heats up.

That's good, works as described. All ports tested except network cable which I don't need. Sometimes two things happen: if you use all USB sockets and the card reader, it gets very hot. Also, I've noticed that I'm getting a few grains on my secondary monitor every other day (I'm using a 30" Dell with an Apple HDMI adapter which should also be in USB).

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Some problems

It has worked very well so far and worked great for my 2016 USB C.

This has worked really well so far and worked great for my 2016 13" Macbook Pro USB C. Honestly Apple has with their many Keys messed up, and that allows you to consolidate everything.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • it bothers me

I like this hub more than other hubs I've tried.

I like this hub more than other hubs I've tried that connect directly to a MacBook. I have a feeling those that connect directly are more likely to break if you accidentally strain them while moving the MacBook. With a wired hub, I worry less about bumping into things. I've tested this with a 4K monitor and it works fine at 30Hz (note that it only works with a 4K monitor at 30Hz or two 1080p monitors). Power pass-through works, as does connecting directly to a MacBook via the power adapter.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Hard to say

I'm glad I bought it.

I'm a public school digital media teacher and I run a Mac lab with 35 iMacs. I needed a solution to connect my teacher's computer to a 75 inch wall display. I researched a few different interfaces and settled on this one because it does so much more than just HDMI (which it does well). With the optional Ethernet adapter, I can now be on two of our networks (my private lab network AND the teacher's network) at the same time. as if it were his.

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Great price

Screen pixelates and doesn't work

I've had this for a while and have had problems for a while - the power has to be off for both of my screens to work unless only my key with my zip will work . The device requires a hard reboot every time I use it now. Also, sometimes the resolution gets pixelated and I have to reset it. Now it's basically become useless - I'll probably just buy an Apple monitor adapter that works every time - I don't recommend you buy it - it's overpriced and will be junk in a year. I wish I had somethingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • disappears

Perfect if you need MORE

I ordered this as a thank you gift for a dear (very helpful and knowledgeable) friend. . . and she loves it. It's perfect for those rare occasions (at least in her case) when a lot of peripherals need to be connected to her MacBook Pro and the native onboard MPB ports just aren't up to the task. She (and therefore I) couldn't be happier here. The product is unreservedly recommended!

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Nothing
