The matte silver finish is a bit shinier than the brushed aluminum finish found on Apple devices, but still works well with a mouse and laptop. Since it looked very similar, I decided to go with it. When I took it out of the box, I wasn't impressed. I do not like the processing of this product at all. I've been an Apple fan for 20 years and have become very used to the feel of their products.
