Disappointed - Hardware

Began to install and when tightening the nut the inside of the cylinder moved and got stuck. I tried to loosen it and the whole cylinder fell out, dropping the spring and cylinders. I've installed several of these and have never encountered it.

Pros
  • Inspires Confidence
Cons
  • Minor Stuff

This gave me a headache

, This lock turns counterclockwise instead of clockwise. So if you don't know which one you need, it will frustrate you. I ordered 2 because I thought the first one was bad and the second one didn't work either then I found out why so be careful when ordering this.

Pros
  • Hands-free working
Cons
  • Dear

CHECK ANTI-ROTATION.

Same issue. The locking mechanism is the opposite of what one might think. All numbers exactly match the distant one. The locking mechanism on the removed 12 through 3. THERE WERE MORE if more detail was given. Like HEY. You MUST make sure YOUR lock works from 12pm to 9am, not 12pm to 3am. Of course, this is difficult to verify if you don't have the keys to the remote lock.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Compatibility

Perfect Fit for USPS Mailbox

Perfect fit for our neighborhood USPS Mailbox. We lost the key to the original lock. I made the mistake of buying the first one to turn right. The mailbox has two sides, and ours is on the smaller side, so we needed one that turns to the left when you insert the key. We had to wait for the postman and he was able to replace it with no problem.

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Features
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Quick installation, works great

This mailbox lock was delivered quickly. The installation went with a bang. It took a while to remove the old lock because it got stuck there after a few years, but after that - voila! New lock installed and working. Note. There were no instructions but I watched a YouTube video on how to do it and it helped me with the process. In addition, the kit does not include a special part of the cam that was not needed in my case because the old one was intact.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Make sure you get the right one for your inbox.

The lock on my mailbox didn't work. I didn't know there was a left and right side lock. I ordered this lock not knowing it was only for the left side of our community mailbox. My mail agent was kind enough to install it and found that the one I ordered only works on the left side. THIS INFORMATION SHOULD BE IN THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION TO INFORM PEOPLE TO BUY LEFT OR RIGHT. THEY ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. So I ran out of money for the first one and had to buy a second one.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Has defects

Poor design, allows the cylinder to push loose springs and pins

Removed old lock, this one in place, tried unscrewing the nut retaining cam. The slight pressure to screw the nut in pushed the cylinder out just far enough to notice the key and prevent it from turning, and it couldn't be put back in. Put the old lock back in place. (Even at an advanced, absurd age, the old lock did not fall apart.) Brought home a new one, and the cylinder fell out entirely, flinging the springs and pins out. The pins and springs didn't have the same number, so some of them…

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs
